Segment 1א׳

כָּל חַד לִזְנַיְהוּ, אִלֵּין נִשְׁמָתִין דְּאִתְגַּזְרוּ מִכּוּרְסֵי יְקָרֵיהּ, וְאִלֵּין רוּחִין דְּאִתְגַּזְרוּ מִמַּלְאָכִים, וְאִלֵּין נַפְשִׁין דְּאִתְגַּזְרוּ מֵאוֹפַנִּים, כָּל חַד אַפִּיק לִזְנַיְיהוּ לְכָל חַד כִּדְקָא יָאוּת, עִץ פְּרִי דָא תַּלְמִיד חָכָם, עוֹשֶׂה פְּרִי דָא בַת זוּגֵיהּ, לְכָל חַד כִּדְקָא יָאוּת, (כל חד אפיק לזנוי).

וְעוֹד עִץ פְּרִי דָא עַמּוּדָא דְאֶמְצָעִיתָא, עוֹשֶׂה פְּרִי דָא צַדִּיק, אֲשֶׁר זַרְעוֹ בוֹ עַל הָאָרֶץ דָּא שְׁכִינְתָּא, דְכָל זַרְעִין אִתְכְּלִילָן בָּהּ, וְהָכָא פִּקּוּדָא דְפִרְיָה וְרִבְיָה לְמֶעֱבַד אִבִּין וְזַרְעִין, הֲדָא הוּא דִכְתִיב (ישעיה מה יח) לֹא תֹהוּ בְרָאָהּ לָשֶׁבֶת יְצָרָהּ, וּמָאן דְּאִתְבַּטַּל מִפִּרְיָה וְרִבְיָה, כְּאִלּוּ אַחְזַר לְהַהִיא אֶרֶץ יַבָּשָׁה, וּמָנַע בִּרְכָאָן מִינָהּ, כָּל חַד לְפוּם דַּרְגֵּיהּ, מָאן דְּפָגִים לְתַתָּא פָגִים לְעִילָא, לַאֲתַר דְּאִתְגַּזַּר נִשְׁמָתֵיהּ.

בְּרֵאשִׁית, תַּמָּן תְּרֵ"י תַּמָּן אֵ"שׁ, וַעֲלַיְיהוּ אִתְּמַר (בראשית א יד) וַיֹּאמֶר אלהי"ם יְהִי מְאֹרֹת בִּרְקִיעַ הַשָּׁמַיִם, מְאֹרֹת כְּתִיב חָסֵר ו' דָּא אוֹרַיְיתָא דְבִכְתָב, מַאי מְאֹרֹת דָּא אוֹרַיְיתָא דִבְעַל פֶּה, וְאַף עַל גַּב דְּאוּקְמוּהָ מְאֹרֹת חָסֵר דָּא לִילִית, שַׁבְעִין אַנְפִּין לְאוֹרַיְיתָא, וּבְגִין דָּא מְאֹרֹת בְּהַאי אֲתַר, הַהִיא דְאִתְּמַר בָּהּ (משלי ו כג) כִּי נֵר מִצְוָה, וְתוֹרָה אוֹר עַמּוּדָא דְאֶמְצָעִיתָא, וַעֲלַיְיהוּ אִתְּמַר (בראשית א טז) אֶת הַמָּאוֹר הַגָּדוֹל לְמֶמְשֶׁלֶת הַיּוֹם וְאֶת הַמָּאוֹר הַקָּטֹן לְמֶמְשֶׁלֶת הַלַּיְלָה.

Bereishit, there is two [trei] there [included in its letters]; there is fire [esh] there. And it is stated about them, And God said, "Let there be luminaries [meorot] in the firmament of the heavens" (Genesis 1:14). It is written, meort, lacking [the letter] vav — that is the written Torah. And what are luminaries? That is the oral Torah. And even though it has been explained that meort that is lacking is Lilith, there are seventy faces [understandings] to the Torah. And because of that, the luminaries in this place is that about which it was stated, For the commandment is a lamp and the Torah is light (Proverbs 6:23); the middle branch, about which it is stated, the greater luminary to dominate the day and the lesser luminary to dominate the night (Genesis 1:16).
