Segment 1א׳

וּשְׁמָהָן דְּאִתְקְרִיאַת יַד, הִיא מַבּוּעָא לְכֹלָּא, וְתִשְׁכַּח יַד הוי"ה, (ישעיהו נ״ט:א׳) הֵן לָא קָצְרַת יַד הוי"ה, דְּלָא אִדְכַּר יָדָא אֶלָּא בִּשְׁמָא דְּחַד.

And among the names by which she is called is “hand”; she is the fountain of all. And you will find “the hand of the Tetragrammaton”: “Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened” (Is. 59, 1), for “hand” is mentioned only with the name of the One.

Segment 2ב׳

אֲתָא רִבִּי אֶלְעָזָר, וְשָׁאַל לְרִבִּי שִׁמְעוֹן אֲבוֹי, וּבְכָה וְאָמַר לֵיהּ, גַּלֵּי לִי הַאי רָזָא אַבָּא מָארִי. אָמַר לֵיהּ בְּהַאי קְרָא אִתְגְּלִי לָךְ, (שמות י״ז:ט״ז) כִּי יָד עַל כֵּס יָהּ מִלְחָמָה לַיְיָ, כֵּס בְּגִין הוי"ה, שַׁלִּיט רַחֲמֵי עַל דִּינָא. צָבֵי לְמֵימַר, יְהֵא רַעֲוָא דִּיְהֵא לְעַלְמָא בְּאֲתַר גְּבוּרָת, יַד יְיָ רַבָּתָא קְרָבָא דְּהֲוַת בְּמִצְרַיִם, וְאִי לָאו הֲווּ בְּדִינֵי.

R. Eleazar came and asked his father R. Simeon, and wept, and said to him: ‘Reveal this mystery to me, my father, my master.’ He said to him: ‘In this verse it is revealed to you: “The hand upon the throne of the Lord: the Lord will have war” (Ex. 17, 16). “Throne” (kes) is on account of the Tetragrammaton: mercy rules over judgement. He means to say: may it be His will that there be for the world, in the place of might, the great hand of the Lord — the war that was in Egypt; and if not, they were under judgements.’

Segment 3ג׳

וְיֵיתֵי מְשִׁיחָא, יֵיתֵי בְּחַדְתּוּ בִּידָא רַבָּתָא, וְיִגַּח קְרָבָא בַּעֲמָלֵק. (שמות י״ג:ט׳) בְּחוֹזֶק יָד הוֹצִיאֲךָ ה' מִמִּצְרָיִם, וְכַד יֵיתֵי שְׁמָא דְיַד בְּתוּקְפָא יְדָא לְחוּדֵיהּ, הוּא בְּעִידָנָא, דְּיַגִּיחַ קְרָבָא בַּעֲמָלֵק, לֵיתֵי מְשִׁיחָא. רִבִּי אֶלְעָזָר מְסַיֵּיעַ, (זכריה י״ד:ג׳) וְיָצָא יְיָ וְנִלְחַם בַּגּוֹיִם הָהֵם כְּיוֹם הִלָּחֲמוֹ בְּיוֹם קְרָב. כ"ס בְּגִין ידו"ד.

And the Messiah will come; he will come in renewal with the great hand, and will wage war against Amalek. “With a strong hand the Lord brought you out of Egypt” (Ex. 13, 9). And when the name of “hand” comes in strength, the hand by itself, that is the time when he will wage war against Amalek; let the Messiah come. R. Eleazar supports this: “And the Lord will go forth and fight against those nations, as when He fights on a day of battle” (Zech. 14, 3). Kes on account of the Tetragrammaton.

Segment 4ד׳

תָּא חֲזֵי, כַּמָּה הִיא יְדָא רַבָּתָא דְּלָא מָטָא לְהַאי יָדָא עִלָּאָה, לַאֲבָהָן רַבְרְבָא לָא אֲגְנִים. וּבְדָא יָדָא נָפְקוּ מִמִּצְרַיִם, בְּגִין דְּמִשְׁוְיָין שָׁוִין, מַנִּי ד' לְד', שָׁוִין דָּא דְּרָע, שְׁמָא דְּיָדָא רַבָּתָא, דְיִפוּק מִן אִינוּן שָׁוִין בְּאַתְוַותְהוֹן דְּמִנְיָינֵיהוֹן כְּמִנְיָינֵיהוֹן, דְּקִבְּלָא תְּרֵין יַד, תְּרֵין.

Observe how great is the great hand, which does not reach to this supernal hand; the great one did not shield the patriarchs. And with this hand they went out of Egypt, because they are set equal — he appointed Daleth to Daleth, equal, this one of the arm, the name of the great hand, which issues from those equals, in their letters, whose numbers are as their numbers, for the receiving is two: hand, two.

Segment 5ה׳

כֵּיצַד לָא אִתְמְנָעוּ דָּא מִן דָּא, וְלָא שָׁוִין. אִתְפְּרַשׁ תְּרֵין אִלֵּין בְּרִיךְ הוּא דִּבְאַתְוַותְהוֹן סַיְיעָאן יַד בַּעֲלָהּ ה', תְּרֵין לְאָב מִנְיָנֵיהוֹן מִתְפָּרַשׁ. מֵאִלֵּין אִתְבְּרִיאוּ שְׁמַיָא וְאַרְעָא וּדְעִמֵּיהּ. וְאִינוּן סְפִירָא קַדְמָאָה, דְּהִיא כִּתְרָא עִלָּאָה. תִּנְיָנָא, (משלי ט״ו:ג׳) בְּכָל מָקוֹם עֵינֵי ה' צוֹפוֹת רָעִים וְטוֹבִים. תְּלִיתָאָה, הֵם מְסַיַּיעְתָּן לִשְׁמָא חַד ו' דְּעֲבַד כַּמָּה אַתְוָון בְּאַרְעָא דְמִצְרַיִם.

How is it that these are not withheld one from the other, and yet are not equal? These two are separated — blessed be He — for in their letters they give support: “hand”, her husband, the letter He; two, to the Father, their numbers are separated. From these were created heaven and earth and what is with them. And they are the first sefirah, which is the supernal keter (crown). The second: “In every place the eyes of the Lord keep watch upon the evil and the good” (Prov. 15, 3). The third: they are supporters to one name, the letter Vau, which made many letters in the land of Egypt.
