Segment 1א׳

רעיא מהימנא אָמַר רַעְיָא מְהֵימָנָא, מַלְכוּ. בְּשִׁית סְפִירָן אִיהִי עוֹלָה תָּמִיד לְגַבֵּי ו', דְּאָחִיד בְּהוֹן. בֶּן יָ"הּ, גָּנִיז בַּבִּינָה. וּבְאָן סְפִירָה מֵאִינּוּן שִׁית סְלִיקַת לְגַבֵּיהּ. בְּיוֹמָא תְּלִיתָאָה, דְּאִקְרֵי תִּפְאֶרֶת. דִּבְיוֹם הַשַּׁבָּת אִתוֹסַף עִמֵּיהּ נֶפֶשׁ יְתֵירָה, דְּאִיהִי בִּינָה. ה' עִלָּאָה. י' אוֹת בְּשַׁבָּת, חָכְמָה עִלָּאָה. מֶלֶךְ מְעוּטָּר בְּכֶתֶר, וּבְגִין דָּא, בִּתְפִלַת מוּסַף כֶּתֶר יִתְּנוּ לְךָ.

Ra'aya Meheimna. The Faithful Shepherd said: Malchut, in six sefirot, rises continually toward Vau, which holds on to them — the son of Yod-He, hidden in binah. And in which sefirah of those six does she rise toward him? On the third day, which is called tiferet. For on the Sabbath day an additional nefesh is added with him, which is binah, the upper He. Yod, a sign on the Sabbath: the supernal chochmah. A King crowned with keter; and therefore in the Musaf prayer, “A crown they will give to You.”

Segment 2ב׳

וּבְרָאשֵׁי חָדְשֵׁיכֶם, וְכִי כַּמָה רֵישִׁין אִית לָהּ לְסִיהֲרָא. אֶלָּא אִינּוּן תְּרֵין נְקוּדִין, כְּגַוְונָא דָּא נְקוּדָה תַּתָּאָה סִיהֲרָא, תְּרֵין רֵישִׁין דִּילָהּ, תְּרֵין נְקוּדִין דְּאִינּוּן עַלָהּ, סֶגוֹל. בְּקַדְמִיתָא הֲוָה כֶּתֶר עֲלֵי תְּרֵי מַלְכִין כְּגַוְונָא דָּא, וַהֲוַת סְגוֹלְתָּא. וּלְבָתַר דְּאַמָרְת אִי אֶפְשָׁר לִשְׁנֵי מְלָכִים לְהִשְׁתַּמֵשׁ בְּכֶתֶר אֶחָד, אָמַר לֵיהּ הַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא, לְכִי וּמַעֲטִי אֶת עַצְמֵךְ. וּנְחִיתַת לְרַגְלוֹי דִּתְרֵין מְלָכִים, כְּגַוְונָא דָּא וְהַיְינוּ סֶגוֹל, מַה דַּהֲוַת סְגוֹלְתָּא, אִתְהַדְּרַת סֶגוֹל.

“And in your new moons (rashei chodsheichem)”: and how many heads does the moon have? Rather, these are two points, like this: the lower point is the moon; her two heads are the two points that are upon her: segol (the vowel of three points). At first there was a crown over two kings, like this, and it was segolta. And after she said, “It is impossible for two kings to use one crown,” the Holy One, blessed be He, said to her, “Go and diminish yourself.” And she went down to the feet of the two kings, like this, and that is segol: what had been segolta turned into segol.

Segment 3ג׳

וְרָזָא דְּמִלָּה, לָקֳבֵל תְּרֵין נְקוּדִין, דְּאִינּוּן תְּרֵין מְלָכִים, קָא רָמִיז פָּרִים בְּנֵי בָקָר שְׁנַיִם, וְלָקֳבֵל נְקוּדָה עֲטָרָה עַל רֵישַׁיְיהוּ, אָמַר, וְאַיִל אֶחָד, כְּמוֹ כֶּתֶר אֶחָד. בָּתַר דְּאַמְרַת אִי אֶפְשָׁר לִשְׁנֵי מְלָכִים שֶׁיִשְׁתַּמְּשׁוּ בְּכֶתֶר אֶחָד, אַזְעִירַת גַּרְמָהּ אוּף הָכִי, וּשְׂעִיר עִזִּים אֶחָד לְחַטָּאת. אַיִל דְּיִצְחָק, אִתְהַדָּר שָׂעִיר. אִתְהַפָּךְ מֵרַחֲמֵי לְדִינָא, וְאִתְזְעִיר.

And the mystery of the matter: corresponding to the two points, which are two kings, it alludes to “two young bullocks”; and corresponding to the point, the crown upon their heads, it says “and one ram” — as one crown. After she said, “It is impossible for two kings to use one crown,” she diminished herself; so too, “and one he-goat for a sin-offering.” The ram of Isaac turned into a he-goat: it was turned from mercy to judgement, and was diminished.
