Segment 1
(a variant adds: and in the first composition) Fine flour for a meal-offering: to bring this fine flour before the supernal King as a meal-offering, between two arms.
Segment 2
Ra'aya Meheimna. And in the first composition, the Faithful Shepherd said: From this it is known that these words are hidden, and one must open them before the Companions. Abraham and Isaac, who instituted the morning prayer and minchah — of them it was said, “Yes, My hand has laid the foundation of the earth” (Isa. 48, 13): this is Isaac; “and My right hand has spread out the heavens”: this is Abraham; whose grades are chesed and fear. Of them it was said, “The Lord has sworn by His right hand, and by the arm of His strength” (Isa. 62, 8): these are the two arms of the King, who is the Tetragrammaton, the Central Column. His fine flour — this is the lower Shekinah, His light: fine flour clean on its sides, without blemish of darkness, and without any admixture of darkness at all. For thus are darknesses with lights: like grain before chaff and straw.
Segment 3
And through the sins of Israel darknesses are mingled with lights. And just as a man threshes grain and afterwards sorts it, as one sorts food out of refuse, so Israel must do with their spirits when darknesses are mingled in them. And the mystery of the matter: “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit,” etc. (Ps. 51, 19). For thus the darkness is broken, which is the evil inclination, which covers over the spirit like chaff that covers the wheat, or like a cloud that covers the sun and does not let it shine.
