Section 94 of 129 in Pinchas — 2 segments
Segment 1
“The Faithful Shepherd said: Places” etc., as far as “upon letters” (printed in the Book of Vayikra, folio 16b). Another explanation: “And he dreamed, and behold a ladder” (Gen. 28, 12). Faithful Shepherd, just as Lamed rises above all the letters, so you are destined to rise above all creatures, because it rises to the Name Yod-Vau-Daleth, He-Yod, Vau-Aleph-Vau, He-Yod, in which are Yod-Yod-Yod, whose numerical value is Lamed. For at first you were in the Name Yod-Vau-Daleth, He-Aleph, Vau-Aleph-Vau, He-Aleph, which is Yod-Aleph-Aleph-Aleph, in the thirteen attributes of mercy, which are “one.” Now you shall rise by El, which is Yod-Yod-Aleph-Yod; for two Names bear witness: “Has not one God (El) created us?” That is what is written, “Have we not all one father? Has not one God created us?” (Mal. 2, 10).
Segment 2
And by these three Yods it shall be fulfilled in you: “He shall be exalted and lifted up, and shall be very high” (Isa. 52, 13) — in Mah (forty-five). For thus me'od (very) amounts to the reckoning of adam; and by transposition of the letters, me'od is adam. “Exalted”: in the four faces of the lion, which are “The Lord bless you” (Num. 6). “And lifted up”: in the four faces of the ox, which are “The Lord lift up,” on the left. “And very high”: “The Lord make His face shine,” in the middle. And this is Yod-Vau-Daleth, He-Yod, Vau-Aleph-Vau, He-Yod: “The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace.” The fourth Tetragrammaton: “So shall they put My name upon the children of Israel, and I will bless them.”
