Segment 1א׳

אָמַר רַבִּי שִׁמְעוֹן, דָּא הוֹד דִּילָךְ רַעְיָא מְהֵימָנָא, דְּבֵיהּ אַנְתְּ חָרֵב, מִנְּבוּאָה דִּילָךְ מִשְּׂמָאלָא, וּבְגִין דְּאַנְתְּ (ישעיהו ס״ג:י״ב) מוֹלִיךְ לִימִין מֹשֶׁה דְּאִיהוּ נֶצַח, רֵישָׁא דְּשַׁחְרִין, (משלי ה׳:י״ט) אַיֶּלֶת אַהָבִים, פָּתַח דָּוִד לַמְנַצֵּחַ עַל אַיֶּלֶת הַשַּׁחַר, דְּבֵיהּ יֵיתֵי מָארֵי נַצְחָן קְרָבַיָּיא. וּבְגִין דְּנֶצַח וְהוֹד תְּרֵין שַׁחְרִין, אוּקְמוּהָ בְּמַתְנִיתִין מֵאֵימָתַי קוֹרִין אֶת שְׁמַע בְּשַׁחְרִין, וְלָא אָמַר בַּשַּׁחַר. אֶלָּא בְּשַׁחְרִין תְּרֵין.

R. Simeon said: This is your hod, Faithful Shepherd, in which you are laid waste, from your prophecy, on the left. And because you are the one who “led at the right hand of Moses” (Isa. 63, 12), which is netzach, the head of the dawns — “a lovely hind” (Prov. 5, 19) — David opened, “For the Leader, upon the hind of the dawn,” for through it will come the master of victories in battles. And because netzach and hod are two dawns, they explained it in the Mishnah: “From when does one recite the Shema be-shacharin (in the dawns)?” — and it did not say ba-shachar (in the dawn), but be-shacharin: two.

Segment 2ב׳

וּתְרֵין מְשִׁיחִין יִתְּעֲרוּן לְגַבַּיְיהוּ, מָשִׁיחַ בֶּן דָּוִד, לָקֳבֵל נֶצַח, וְאִתְקְשַׁר בַּבֹּקֶר דְּאַבְרָהָם, הֲדָא הוּא דִּכְתִּיב, (תהילים ט״ז:י״א) נְעִימוֹת בִּימִינְךָ נֶצַח. הוֹד בִּגְבוּרָה, דְּבֵיהּ מָשִׁיחַ בֶּן אֶפְרַיִם אָחִיד. אַנְתְּ בְּאֶמְצָעִיתָא, דְּדַרְגָא דִּילָךְ תִּפְאֶרֶת, דְּאִתְקְשַׁר בָּךְ עַמּוּדָא דְּאֶמְצָעִיתָא. וִיסוֹד חַי עָלְמִין בְּדַרְגָּא דִּילָךְ. וְחָכְמָה בַּיָּמִין, הָרוֹצֶה לְהַחְכִּים יַדְרִים. וּבִינָה לִשְׂמָאלָא, הָרוֹצֶה לְהַעֲשִׁיר יַצְפִּין.

And two Messiahs will be awakened toward them: Messiah son of David, corresponding to netzach, and he is bound to the morning of Abraham, as it is written, “In Your right hand bliss for evermore (netzach)” (Ps. 16, 11). Hod, in gevurah, to which Messiah son of Ephraim holds. You are in the middle, for your grade is tiferet, by which the Central Column is bound to you. And yesod, the Life of the worlds, is in your grade. And chochmah is on the right: he who wishes to become wise, let him turn to the south; and binah on the left: he who wishes to become rich, let him turn to the north.

Segment 3ג׳

אִיהִי הַקֶּשֶׁת גַּבָּךְ, וְהַאי אִיהוּ לְבוּשָׁא דִּשְׁכִינְתָּא. לְבוּשָׁא דְּצַדִּיק, דְּאִתְקְרֵי בְּרִית הַקֶּשֶׁת. וְאִיהוּ אוֹת שַׁבָּת, וְאוֹת יוֹם טוֹב, וְאוֹת תְּפִילִּין, וְאוֹת בְּרִית מִילָה. וְאָמַר קוּדְשָׁא בְּרִיךְ הוּא, מַאן דְּלָאו אִיהוּ רָשִׁים בְּהַאי אוֹת, לָא יֵיעוּל בְּמַרְאָה דָּא, בְּחֵדֶר דָּא. וְהַאי אִיהוּ מַטֵּה, דְּעַמּוּדָא דְּאֶמְצָעִיתָא מַטֵּה בֵּיהּ כְּלַפֵּי חֶסֶד לַצַדִּיקִים גְּמוּרִים, לְמֵיהַב לוֹן זַכְוָון, בְּח"י בִּרְכָאן דִּצְלוֹתָא. וּמַטֵּה כְּלַפֵּי חוֹבָה לְרַשִׁיעַיָּיא, לְמֵידָן לוֹן בִּגְבוּרָה לְדִינָא, כְּפוּם עוֹבָדֵיהוֹן. וּבְעַמוּדָא דְּאֶמְצָעִיתָא מַאֲרִיךְ עַל בֵּינוֹנִיִּם. וְהַאי אִיהוּ ש'.

She is the bow at your back, and this is the garment of the Shekinah — the garment of the Righteous One, who is called the covenant of the bow. And it is the sign of the Sabbath, and the sign of the festival, and the sign of the phylacteries, and the sign of the covenant of circumcision. And the Holy One, blessed be He, said: Whoever is not marked with this sign shall not enter into this vision, into this chamber. And this is the staff (matteh), for with it the Central Column is matteh, inclining toward chesed for the perfectly righteous, to give them merits, in the eighteen blessings of the prayer; and inclines toward guilt for the wicked, to judge them with gevurah for judgement, according to their deeds. And in the Central Column there is long-suffering for the intermediate. And this is Shin.
