Section 47 of 129 in Pinchas — 8 segments
Segment 1
David removed it from his heart and slew it. This is what is written: “and my heart is slain within me” (Ps. 109, 22). And because of this he merited that the north wind should blow upon his harp. And of it it is said, “Thus says the Lord: Come from the four winds, O spirit” (Ezek. 37, 9). And he would play on the harp with four kinds of melody: in a simple song, which is Yod; and in a double song, which is Yod-He; and in a triple song, which is Yod-He-Vau; and in a fourfold song, which is Yod-He-Vau-He. These are the ten letters, corresponding to which David made ten kinds of psalms. And they mount up to seventy-two faces, by the reckoning of these ten letters.
Segment 2
And when do they mount up in seventy-two kinds of melody? When the dominion of Iniquity, Destroyer, Anger and Wrath passes away, in which the stormy wind beats, on four sides, which mount up to ten crowns, to seventy-two nations. This is what is written: “and when the wicked perish, there is song” (Prov. 11, 10).
Segment 3
For Michael, Gabriel, Nuriel, Raphael rule over the four good sides (a variant reads: elements) of man, which are water and fire and wind and dust; and each one has four faces. Iniquity, Destroyer, Anger and Wrath hang (a variant reads: rule) over the white gall of the lung, which makes an adhesion; and in the red gall of the liver, which is reddened by Mars (Ma'adim); and in the green gall that holds on to the liver, which is the sword of the angel of death, of which it is said, “but her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two-edged sword” (Prov. 5, 4); and in the black gall: Lilith, Saturn (Shabbethai), dominion in the spleen, which is sadness, the nethermost Sheol, poverty and darkness, weeping and lamentation and famine.
