The Zohar · Pinchas
Zohar, Pinchas 35
Section 35 of 129 in Pinchas — 4 segments
Segment 1
R. Eleazar, rise to renew words before the Shekinah, that you may be a help (ezer) to your father; for the name brings it about: ezer El — El from the right, ezer from the left. This is what is written, “I will make him a help meet for him” (Gen. 2, 18). With what? With fair seed (zera), which is ezer transposed. And let R. Jose rise with you, who is a perfect throne for his Master; for thus Yosi amounts to the reckoning of ha-kisse (the throne), Elohim in number.
Segment 2
And let R. Judah rise with him, in whom is hod (majesty), and in whom is Yod-He, and in whom is the Tetragrammaton and Daleth — Daleth, four Hayyoth: “and their faces and their wings were separate” (Ezek. 1, 11), all of them, to receive him. And from him comes David, who gave thanks (hodah) to the Holy One, blessed be He — a grade in thanksgivings, which is from the side of hod. And let R. Elai rise with him — in gematria Yabbok: baki (expert) in the halachah.
Segment 3
And let R. Judai rise with him, whose reckoning is El. As in Michael — angels marked with El. As in “It is in the power of my hand” (Gen. 31, 29). And the mystery of El: Aleph, the likeness of a man; Lamed, three Hayyoth, which are four faces to each one, which are hinted (a variant reads: in it) in He; in number Lamed is three Yods (a variant reads: amount to thirty). And they are at the heads of the three mentions, which are: “The Lord is King, the Lord was King, the Lord shall reign for ever and ever.” And let R. Abba rise with them, whose reckoning is four — four Hayyoth.
