Segment 1

Rise, R. Simeon, and let words be renewed from your mouth on this verse from before. Lamnatze'ach (For the Leader): there is netzach (victory) — niggun tzach (a clear melody). And by it the Tetragrammaton is called the Master of victories in battle against the idolatrous nations of the world, and mercy and judgement for Israel. And the mystery of the matter: “and when the wicked perish, there is song (rinnah)” (Prov. 11, 10). Mem-Lamed: He has seventy names; and with netzach and hod, seventy-two, as the reckoning of chesed. And the mystery of the matter: “In Your right hand bliss for evermore (netzach)” (Ps. 16, 11).

Segment 2

Hod: in it, “Give thanks to the Lord” (I Chron. 16, 8). The Righteous One: in it, “Sing for joy in the Lord, O you righteous” (Ps. 33, 2); and in it, “Sing with gladness for Jacob” (Jer. 31, 7). Tiferet: in it, “Praise God.” Halleluyah: hallelu Yah (praise Yah), for there is the Tetragrammaton. With melody and with psalmody — chesed and gevurah. With song and with blessing — chochmah and binah. With ashrei (happy) — keter (crown). With praise — malchut.

Segment 3

Mizmor (psalm): in it is raz, and in it is mum (blemish) — from the side of the zemer (psalmody) of the Torah and the zemer of prayer. A zemer from the other side is mum zar (a strange blemish): song in the house, a sword in the house — a menstruant woman, a bondwoman, a daughter of the worshippers of stars and constellations, a harlot. And these are the letters of mizmor. Niggun: there is gan (a garden). So too the beauty of the melody: in it is Hallel, as in “It was a night of watching to the Lord for bringing them out from the land of Egypt” (Ex. 12, 42). Ashrei: for with it the world began (sharei) to praise — “Happy is the people that is in such a case” (Ps. 144, 15). With blessing: “I will bless the Lord at all times” (Ps. 34, 2). With praise: “His praise shall continually be in my mouth.”
