Section 123 of 129 in Pinchas — 23 segments
Segment 1
The continual burnt-offering: this is the Shekinah, who ascends above in that grade of which it is said, “evening and morning, every day, continually”, and “Hear, O Israel” is said twice. And she ascends in the Central Column, who is always with her, without any separation at all.
Segment 2
And to where does she ascend? To the place from which she was hewn, which is En Sof, and it is higher than all the sefirot. And therefore they have explained: The burnt-offering rises wholly to the Most High. And when she ascends, all the sefirot take hold of her and ascend with her. And what is her ascent? “For a sweet savour”: to give a good fragrance before the Lord. And afterwards it is said of her, “and he came down from offering the sin-offering, and the burnt-offering” (Lev. 9, 22): she comes down full of atonement for all the sins of Israel.
Segment 3
And behold, her ascent is in the Central Column; so too her descent is in Him, and all her hosts. And therefore He is called a ladder, for on Him all the modes of being (a variant reads: appellations) ascend and descend, which hang from the Tetragrammaton. And therefore all the offerings and burnt-offerings are to the Tetragrammaton. And she is called korban (an offering), because in her all the appellations are brought near to the Tetragrammaton.
