רעיא מהימנא אָמַר רַעְיָא מְהֵימְנָא, וַדַּאי בְּנֵי שָׁנָה אִתְקְרִיאוּ עַל שֵׁם חַמָּה, (נ"א מלכות) אִימָּא קַדִּישָׁא, דְּאִתְּמַר בָּהּ פְּנֵי מֹשֶׁה כִּפְנֵי חַמָּה. (ס"א סיהרא דאקרי שנה דאית בה שנ"ה יומין, כחושבן) שָׁנָה אִית בָּהּ שס"ה יוֹמִין, כְּחוּשְׁבַּן שס"ה לֹא תַּעֲשֶׂה. וְאִיהוּ עַל דָּא לִשְׂמָאלָא. אִימָּא עִלָּאָה, סִיהֲרָא בִּימִינָא. אֲסוּרָה בְּרַתָּא לְאַבָּא דְּאִיהוּ לִימִינָא חֶסֶד. וְאִיהִי כְּלִילָא מרמ"ח פִּקוּדִין. אִשְׁתְּכַח ו' עִם אִימָּא לִשְׂמָאלָא. בְּרַתָּא עִם אַבָּא לִימִינָא דְּחֶסֶד. (ואיהי כלילא מרמ"ח פקודין. אשתכח ו' עם אימא, ברתא עם אבא לימינא) וְרָזָא דְּמִלָּה, (משלי ג׳:י״ט) בְּחָכְמָה יָסַד אֶרֶץ. חָכְמָה אַבָּא. אֶרֶץ בְּרַתָּא. כּוֹנֵן שָׁמַיִם דְּאִיהוּ בְּרָא, עִם אִימָּא דְּאִיהוּ תְּבוּנָה, וְהַאי אִיהוּ ידד"ו, הֲוָיוֹת בְּאֶמְצַע.

Ra'aya Meheimna. The Faithful Shepherd said: Assuredly, bnei shanah are called so after the sun (a variant reads: malchut), the holy Mother, of whom it is said, “The face of Moses was like the face of the sun.” (a variant reads: the moon, which is called shanah, which has three hundred and fifty-five days, according to the reckoning) The year has three hundred and sixty-five days, according to the number of the three hundred and sixty-five negative commandments; and therefore it is on the left. The supernal Mother — the moon on the right. The daughter is bound to the Father, who is on the right, chesed; and she is comprised of the two hundred and forty-eight commandments. Vau is found with the Mother on the left; the daughter with the Father, on the right of chesed. (a variant reads: And she is comprised of the two hundred and forty-eight commandments. Vau is found with the Mother; the daughter with the Father on the right.) And the mystery of the matter: “by wisdom founded the earth” (Prov. 3, 19). Wisdom: the Father. Earth: the daughter. “He established the heavens”: which is the son, with the Mother, who is “understanding.” And this is Yod-He-He-Vau: the modes of being (havayot) in the middle.
