Segment 1
The seventh palace. This is the palace of the lees of wine, to become drunken with it, as it says “and he drank of the wine and was drunken, and he was uncovered.” (Gen. 9, 21) The pressing of all those grapes — they are all evil grapes; here is their pressing. And this is “foaming wine.” (Ps. 75) The lees of the wine, of which there is none that drinks and does not bring death upon himself. Of this wine Eve gave her husband to taste, and brought him into this palace; for we have learnt: she pressed grapes and gave to him, and brought death upon him and upon all the world after him.
Segment 2
In this palace stand all those unclean souls that come down to all those who cleave to this side; and that spirit which comes down to all those who are of its sides — from here they go forth. According as they turned aside from their ways in this world, and busied themselves in harlotry in a place where it is not fitting, so as to remove themselves far from the way of truth: then, just as he cleaved to that side of the evil inclination in harlotry, so too there goes forth from this palace an unclean spirit, to defile him, and the son that goes forth from there.
Segment 3
And that son is called mamzer, because he comes from the side of a strange god. Just as he was found in that lust and in that harlotry, on that side of the evil inclination, so too there is drawn to that son another unclean spirit, which defiles; and all bear witness against him that he is a mamzer. And so are all his deeds and his sides, in that very manner.
