Zohar, Pekudei 59
Section 59 of 63 in Pekudei — 17 segments
Segment 1
The sixth palace. This palace stands supernal over all those other lower palaces. Four doors has this palace: one is called Death; and one is called Evil; and one is called Shadow of Death; and one is called Gloom. These four doors stand continually to do harm. These are the sum of all.
Segment 2
Just as there is on the side of holiness, in the mystery of faith, four doors to four sides, which are bound one to another, and all of them holy — so too below, here. And when these are bound and joined one with another as one, in this palace, then it is called a House in Common; as it is said, “than a contentious woman and a house in common” (Prov. 21, 9). And this palace stands to do harm continually.
Segment 3
Of this palace it is written, “But the kisses of an enemy are importunate” (Prov. 27, 6), because here stand all those evil kisses, and evil desires, and all the pleasures of the body of this world, by which pleasures a man is driven out from this world and from the world to come. And of this palace it is written, “For the lips of a strange woman drop honey,” etc. (Prov. 5, 3).
