Segment 1
As soon as they heard these words, the Masters of the Academy who were descending with the Holy Lamp discoursed on the verse and said: Faithful Shepherd, mouth of the supernal and the lower Shekinah — for by the two of them the Holy One, blessed be He, spoke with you mouth to mouth in the recitation of the Shema, of which it is said, “High praises of God are in their throat, and a two-edged sword in their hand” (Ps. 149, 6). For indeed, Yod is the head of the sword, which encircles your lip; Vau is the tongue of your sword; He and He are the two edges, in your two lips. And indeed, the Name of your Master speaks in your mouth. Yod-He-Vau-He is in your thought, which brings forth these fifty from your mouth.
Segment 2
Indeed, because of these words Elijah is detained above, for he is bound, so that he does not descend to you; for with much wealth he used to descend to you. And he is bound above, so that he does not descend to you, because your poverty is a redeemer for Israel. And therefore Messiah said: until the poor man comes. And this is what is written, “and with his stripes we were healed” (Isa. 53, 5).
Segment 3
He said to them: ‘If so, let us make a release for him, and let him descend to me; for he is more precious to me than all the wealth of the world. And behold, I pardon and release him, and I permit him his oath. And you too, likewise, release him; and if a further release is needed, we shall labour at his release, so that he may descend to me.’
