Segment 1

And with them the hind put her head between her knees. The head — that is the Righteous One, the foundation of the world; between her knees, which are netzach and hod (majesty). And He swore to her by him to redeem her children in the morning, which is the lion, the morning, the right hand of Abraham, the Messiah son of David who comes forth from Judah, of whom it is said: “Judah is a lion’s whelp” (Gen. 49, 9). And therefore: “As the Lord lives, lie down until the morning” (Ruth 3, 13).

Segment 2

And in her: “that caused His glorious arm to go at the right hand of Moses, dividing the water before them,” and so forth (Isa. 63, 12) — because tiferet is the grade of Moses, the body, and chesed is his arm; and Moses is bound to the seventy-two, which is chesed, the grade of Abraham. For so it amounts to the number eighteen. Three Vaus, from “and it journeyed”, “and it came”, “and he stretched out” — the three branches of the patriarchs; a Shin, which is bound to the Shin of Moses, of which it is said: “And the face of a lion on the right side of them four, and the face of an ox on the left side,” and so forth, “and the face of an eagle of them four” (Ezek. 1, 10). Mem-He from Moses: “and the likeness of their faces was the face of a man.”

Segment 3

The left arm, of which it is said: the left hand repels and the right hand draws near. For although Tishri comes first, of which the sages of the Mishnah have explained, “In Tishri they are destined to be redeemed,” it shall repel, so that the Messiah son of Ephraim shall not die — repelling from Tishri, which is the left, until the right draws near, Passover, the right arm, to fulfil in her: “As in the days of your coming out of the land of Egypt will I show him marvellous things” (Micah 7, 15). And this is “In Nisan they were redeemed and in Nisan they are destined to be redeemed,” to fulfil in them: “But with everlasting kindness will I have compassion on you, says your Redeemer, the Lord” (Isa. 54, 8).
