Segment 1א׳

אֵלִיָּהוּ, וַדַּאי בַּר נָשׁ דִּמְבָרֵךְ וּמְקַדֵּשׁ, וּמְיַחֵד לְמַטְרוֹנִיתָא, כַּמָּה מַשְׁרְיָין דְּמַטְרוֹנִיתָא סַלְּקִין עִמֵּיהּ, וּמַשִּׁרְיָין דְּמַלְכָּא, נַחְתִּין לְגַבֵּיהּ. וְכֻלְּהוּ לְנַטְרָא לֵיהּ, וּלְאוֹדָעָא לֵיהּ לְהַהוּא רוּחָא, כַּמָּה חִידוּשִׁין וַעֲתִידוֹת, בְּחֶלְמִין דִּנְבוּאָה, וְכַמָּה סְתָרִים. כְּגַוְונָא דְּיַעֲקֹב, דְּאִתְּמַר בֵּיהּ, (בראשית כ״ח:י״ב) וְהִנִּה מַלְאֲכֵי אֱלֹהִים עוֹלִים וְיוֹרְדִים בּוֹ. וְעַל מַשְׁרְיָין דְּמַלְכָּא וּמַטְרוֹנִיתָא אִתְּמַר, (בראשית ל״ב:ג׳) וַיִּקְרָא שֵׁם הַמָּקוֹם הַהוּא מַחֲנַיִם. אֲבָל מַלְכָּא וּמַטְרוֹנִיתָא לָא נַחְתִּין תַּמָּן.

Elijah, indeed: a man who blesses and sanctifies and unifies the Matrona — how many hosts of the Matrona ascend with him, and hosts of the King descend to him. And they all guard him, and make known to that spirit many new teachings and things to come, in dreams of prophecy, and many hidden things — like Jacob, of whom it is said: “And behold, the angels of God ascending and descending on it” (Gen. 28, 12). And of the hosts of the King and the Matrona it is said: “And he called the name of that place Mahanaim” (Gen. 32, 3). But the King and the Matrona do not descend there.

Segment 2ב׳

אָמַר אֵלִיָּהוּ, רַעְיָא מְהֵימָנָא, הָכִי הוּא וַדַּאי. אֲבָל בְּגִין דִּבְכָל פִּקּוּדָא וּפִקּוּדָא, הֲוָה אִשְׁתַּדְּלוּתָא דִּילָךְ, לְיַחֲדָא קוּדְשָׁא בְּרִיךְ הוּא וּשְׁכִינְתֵּיהּ, בְּכָל מַשְׁרְיָין דְּעֵילָּא וְתַתָּא, הָכִי קוּדְשָׁא בְּרִיךְ הוּא וּשְׁכִינְתֵּיהּ, וְכָל מַשִּׁרְיָיתֵיהּ עֵילָּא וְתַתָּא, מִתְיַחֲדִין בְּרוּחָא דִּילָךְ, בְּכָל פִּקּוּדָא וּפִקּוּדָא, כִּבְרָא דְּמַלְכָּא, דְּאַבָּא וְאִמָא רַחֲמִין לֵיהּ, וְנַשְׁקִין לֵיהּ, וּבַחֲבִיבוּ דִּילֵיהּ, לָא הֵמְנִין לֵיהּ בְּמַשִּׁרְיָין דִּלְהוֹן, אֶלָּא אִינּוּן גּוּפַיְיהוּ, נַטְרִין לֵיהּ.

Elijah said: Faithful Shepherd, so it is indeed. But because in every single precept your endeavour was to unify the Holy One, blessed be He, and His Shekinah, in all the hosts above and below, so the Holy One, blessed be He, and His Shekinah, and all His hosts above and below, are unified in your spirit in every single precept — like the son of a king, whom father and mother love and kiss, and in their love of him they do not entrust him to their hosts, but they themselves guard him.

Segment 3ג׳

בְּגִין דְּהַהוּא רוּחָא דִּילָךְ, מִסִּטְרָא דְּעַמּוּדָא דְּאֶמְצָעִיתָא אִיהוּ, דְּאִיהוּ ו' כָּלִיל אַבָּא וְאִימָּא, דְּאִינּוּן יָ"הּ. נֶפֶשׁ דִּילָךְ. בַּת יְחִידָא, מִסִּטְרָא דְּאָת ה', שְׁכִינְתָּא תַּתָּאָה, לָא זָזָת מִינָךְ. וּכְגַוְונָא דְּאַבָּא וְאִימָּא נַטְרִין בְּרָא, הָכִי נַטְרִין בְּרָתָא. בְּמַשִּׁרְיָין עִלָּאִין, דְּאִינּוּן מַחֲנַיִם. וּבְמַחֲשָׁבָה עִלָּאָה, סַלְּקִין לְרוּחָא דִּילָךְ, כְּמָה דְּאוּקְמוּהָ, יִשְׂרָאֵל עָלָה בְּמַחֲשָׁבָה, יוּ"ד הֵ"א וָא"ו הֵ"א. וְאֵימָתַי רוּחָא דִּילָךְ סְלִיקַת בְּמַחֲשָׁבָה. כַּד אִיהִי שְׁלֵימָא, וְאִתְּמַר בָּהּ, (תהילים ק״נ:ו׳) כֹּל הַנְּשָׁמָה תְּהַלֵּל יָהּ. וּבְנַפְשָׁא דְּאִיהִי ה'.

Because that spirit (ruah) of yours is from the side of the Central Column, which is Vau, comprising Father and Mother, who are Yod-He. Your soul (nephesh), the Only Daughter, from the side of the letter He’, the lower Shekinah, does not stir from you. And just as Father and Mother guard the son, so do they guard the daughter, with supernal hosts, which are Mahanaim. And in supernal thought they raise your spirit, as has been explained: Israel arose in thought — Yod-He-Vau-He. And when does your spirit ascend in thought? When she is whole, and of her it is said: “Let every soul (neshamah) praise the Lord” (Ps. 150, 6); and with the soul (nephesh), which is He’.
