Section 23 of 30 in Ki Teitzei — 3 segments
Segment 1
“Therefore it shall be, when the Lord your God has given you rest,” etc., “you shall blot out the remembrance of Amalek,” etc. (Deut. 25, 19). This precept is to cut off the seed of Amalek; for the Holy One, blessed be He, has sworn that He will not return upon His throne until He takes vengeance of him. The Faithful Shepherd opened and said: Assuredly, for this reason they went in the wilderness and by the sea, and shall not enter the land of Israel until He takes vengeance of Amalek.
Segment 2
Who is Amalek above? For we see that Balaam and Balak — their souls were from there; and therefore they hated Israel more than every nation and tongue. And therefore Amalek is inscribed in their names: Ayin-Mem from Balaam, Lamed-Koph from Balak; and male and female, they are Amalekites. And of them it is said, “He has not beheld iniquity in Jacob, neither has He seen perverseness in Israel” (Num. 23, 21).
Segment 3

Even as there are in Israel four faces — Jacob, Israel, Rachel, Leah: Israel with Leah, Jacob with Rachel — corresponding to, “and the four had the face of an eagle” (Ezek. 1, 10). So Amalek has four faces: divination, and enchantment, perverseness, and iniquity. Perverseness is inscribed in Amalek. And Haman, who was from the side of Amalek: “his perverseness shall return upon his own head” (Ps. 7, 17). And all the chiefs of Esau were from Amalek. And above, Amalek is Samael: perverseness, enchantment, iniquity, and deceit — who entices a man to sin against the Holy One, blessed be He. Kesem, divination: the Koph from Amalek, the Samech-Mem from Samael. Nachash, enchantment: the Aleph-Lamed from Samael. (…).
