Segment 1א׳

וּבָעֵי בַּר נָשׁ לְמֶחְדֵּי בִּתְלַת סְעוּדָתֵי דְּשַׁבְּתָא, דְּהָא כָּל מְהֵימְנוּתָא, וְכָל כְּלָלָא דִּמְהֵימְנוּתָא, בֵּיהּ אִשְׁתְּכַח, וּבָעֵי בַּר נָשׁ לְסַדְּרָא פָּתוֹרָא, וּלְמֵיכַל תְּלַת סְעוּדָתֵי דִּמְהֵימְנוּתָא, וּלְמֵחדֵי בְּהוּ.

And a man must rejoice in the three meals of the Sabbath, for all the faith, and the whole sum of the faith, is found in it. And a man must set the table, and eat three meals of faith, and rejoice in them.

אָמַר רִבִּי שִׁמְעוֹן, אַסְהַדְנָא עָלַי לְכָל אִלֵּין דְּהָכָא, דְּהָא מִן יוֹמָאי לָא בָּטִילְנָא אִלֵּין ג' סְעוּדָתֵי, וּבְגִינֵיהוֹן לָא אִצְטְרִיכְנָא לְתַעֲנִיתָא בְּשַׁבְּתָא. וַאֲפִילּוּ בְּיוֹמֵי אַחֲרִינֵי לָא אִצְטְרִיכְנָא, כָּל שֶׁכֵּן בְּשַׁבְּתָא. דְּמַאן דְּזָכֵי בְּהוּ, זָכֵי לִמְהֵימְנוּתָא שְׁלֵימָתָא. חַד, סְעוּדָתָא דְּמַטְרוֹנִיתָא. וְחַד, סְעוּדָתָא דְּמַלְכָּא קַדִּישָׁא. וְחַד, סְעוּדָתָא דְּעַתִּיקָא קַדִּישָׁא, סְתִימָא דְּכָל סְתִימִין. וּבְהַהוּא עָלְמָא יִזְכֵּי בְּהוּ לְאִלֵּין. הַאי רָצוֹן כַּד אִתְגַלְיָיא, כָּל דִּינִין אִתְכַּפְיָין מִשּׁוּלְשְׁלֵיהוֹן.

R. Simeon said: I testify concerning myself to all these who are here, that in all my days I have not neglected these three meals, and because of them I have not needed to fast on the Sabbath. And even on other days I have not needed to — all the more so on the Sabbath. For whoever is worthy of them is worthy of perfect faith. One is the meal of the Matrona; and one is the meal of the Holy King; and one is the meal of the Holy Ancient One, the Hidden of all hidden. And in that world he shall be worthy of these. This Favour, when it is revealed, all judgements are subdued from their chains.
