Zohar, Idra Zuta 39
Section 39 of 43 in Idra Zuta — 2 segments
Segment 1
The male spread out in knowledge, and the halls and chambers were filled. It begins from the head of the skull and spreads out through the whole body — from his breast and his arms, and in all. Behind him a spark of butzina de-kardinuta cleaved, and it blazed and brought forth one skull, hidden on all its sides; and the light (a variant reads: and the descent) of the two brains is engraved in it; and it cleaved to the sides of the male. Therefore it is called “my dove, my undefiled (tammati)” (S. S. 5, 2): do not read tammati, but te'omati (my twin), assuredly.
Segment 2
The hair of the female: colours are comprised in it (a variant reads: colours within colours), as it is written, “and the hair of your head like purple” (S. S. 7, 6). Gevurah was bound in five powers, and the female spread out on her side, and cleaved to the sides of the male.
