Section 11 of 43 in Idra Zuta — 5 segments
Segment 1
The eyes of the head of the Holy Ancient One are two in one, balanced, which watch continually and do not sleep, as it is written, “He that keeps Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps” (Ps. 121, 4) — the holy Israel. Therefore it has no eyebrows over the eye, and no covering.
Segment 2
That brain is engraved and shines in three whitenesses of above (a variant reads: of the eye). In one whiteness the eyes of the Small of Countenance are bathed, as it is written, “washed with milk” (S. S. 5, 12), for it (a variant reads: in that) is the first whiteness. And the other whitenesses are bathed and shine for the other lamps.
Segment 3
The brain is called the spring of blessing, the spring from which all blessings are found. And because this brain flames in the three whitenesses of the eye, blessing hangs on the eye, as it is written, “He that has a good eye shall be blessed” (Prov. 22, 9); for the whiteness of the eye hangs on the brain. This eye, when it watches over the Small of Countenance (a variant adds: worlds) (a variant reads: all faces shine in joy), they all shine in joy. This eye is all right; there is no left in it. The eyes below are right and left, two, in two colours.
