Segment 1א׳

בְּהַאי דִּיּוּקְנָא דְּאָדָם, שַׁארִי וְתָקִין כְּלָלָא דְּכַר וְנוּקְבָּא. כַּד אִתְתָּקַּן הַאי דִּיּוּקְנָא בְּתִקּוּנוֹי, שָׁארֵי מֵחַדּוֹי, מִבֵּין תְּרֵין דְּרוֹעִין. בְּאֲתָר דְּתַּלְיָין שַׂעְרֵי דְּדִיקְנָא, דְּאִתְקְרוּן (נ"א דאתקרי) תִּפְאֶרֶת. וְאִתְפָּשַּׁט הַאי תִּפְאֶרֶת, וְתָקִין תְּרֵין חַדִּין, וְאִשְׁתְּלַיף לַאֲחוֹרוֹי, וְעֲבַד גּוּלְגַלְתָּא דְּנוּקְבָּא. כֹּלָּא סְתִימָא מִכָּל סִטְרוֹי. בְּשַׂעְרָא בְּפַרְצוּפָא דְּרֵישָׁא. וּבִכְלָלָא חֲדָא אִתְעָבִידוּ בְּהַאי תִּפְאֶרֶת, וְאִקְרֵי אָדָם דְּכַר וְנוּקְבָּא. הֲדָא הוּא דִכְתִיב, (ישעיהו מ״ד:י״ג) כְּתִפְאֶרֶת אָדָם לָשֶׁבֶת בָּיִת.

In this image of Adam, He began and set in order the whole of male and female. When this image was set in order in its adornments, it began from His chest, from between the two arms, in the place where the hairs of the beard hang, which are called (a variant reads: which is called) tiferet. And this tiferet spread out and set in order two breasts, and was drawn out to His back, and made the skull of the female — all concealed on all its sides, with hair, in the countenance of the head. And in one whole they were made in this tiferet, and it is called Adam, male and female. This is what is written: “according to the beauty (tiferet) of a man (adam), to dwell in the house” (Isa. 44, 13).

Segment 2ב׳

כַּד אִתְבְּרֵי פַּרְצוּפָא דְּרֵישָׁא דְּנוּקְבָּא, תַּלְיָיא חַד קוֹצָא דְּשַׂעְרֵי מֵאֲחוֹרוֹי דִּזְעֵיר אַפִּין, וְתָלֵי עַד רֵישָׁא דְּנוּקְבָּא. וְאִתְּעֲרוּ שַׂעְרֵי בְּרֵישָהָא, כֻּלְּהוּ סוּמָקֵי דִּכְלִלָן בְּגוֹ גְּוָונֵי, הֲדָא הוּא דִכְתִיב, (שיר השירים ז׳:ו׳) וְדַלַּת רֹאשֵׁךְ כָּאַרְגָמָן. מַהוּ אַרְגָּמָן. גְּוָונֵי דִּכְלִילָן בְּגוֹ גְּוָונֵי.

When the countenance of the head of the female was created, one lock of hair hung down from behind the Small of Countenance, and hung as far as the head of the female. And hairs were aroused on her head, all of them red, included within colours. This is what is written: “and the hair of your head like purple” (S. S. 7, 6). What is purple? Colours included within colours.

Segment 3ג׳

תָּאנָא, אִתְפָּשַׁט הַאי תִּפְאֶרֶת מִטַבּוּרָא דְּלִבָּא, וְנָקִיב וְאִתְעֲבָר בְּגִיסָא אַחֲרָא, וְתָקִין פַּרְצוּפָא דְּנוּקְבָּא עַד טַבּוּרָא. וּמִטַבּוּרָא שָׁארֵי, וּבְטַבּוּרָא שְׁלִים.

It has been taught: this tiferet spread out from the navel of the heart, and pierced through and passed to the other side, and set in order the countenance of the female as far as the navel. And from the navel it begins, and at the navel it is completed.
