Segment 1א׳

מִצְחָא דְּגוּלְגַּלְתָּא. אַשְׁגָּחוּתָא דְּאַשְׁגָּחוּתָא. וְלָא מִתְגַּלְיָיא, בַּר הַהוּא זִמְנָא, דִּצְרִיכִין חַיָּיבַיָּא לְאִתְפַּקְּדָא, וּלְעַיְּינָא בְּעוֹבָדֵיהוֹן. וְתָאנָא, כַּד אִתְגַּלְיָיא הַאי מִצְחָא, אִתְּעֲרוּ כָּל מָארֵיהוֹן דְּדִינָא, וְכָל עָלְמָא בְּדִינָא אִתְמְסַר. בַּר הַהִיא שַׁעֲתָא, כַּד סְלִיקוּ צְלוֹתְהוֹן דְּיִשְׂרָאֵל לְקַמֵּי עַתִּיק יוֹמִין, וּבָעֵי לְרַחֲמָא עַל בְּנוֹי, גַּלֵּי מִצְחָא דְּרַעֲוָא דְּרַעֲוִין, וְנָהִיר בְּהַאי דִּזְעֵיר אַפִּין, וְאִשְׁתְּכִיךְ דִּינָא.

The forehead of the skull: the visitation of visitation. And it is not revealed save at that time when the wicked are to be visited and their deeds examined. And it has been taught: when this forehead is revealed, all the lords of judgement are aroused, and the whole world is delivered over to judgement — save at that hour when the prayers of Israel ascend before the Ancient of Days, and He desires to have mercy upon His children: He reveals the forehead of the Will of wills, and it shines in this one of the Small of Countenance, and judgement is assuaged.

Segment 2ב׳

בְּהַאי מִצְחָא, נָפִיק חַד (פקודי רל"ז ע"ב) שַׂעֲרָא, דְּמִתְפְּשָׁט בֵּיהּ מִמּוֹחָא דְּאַפִּיק חַמְשִׁין תַּרְעִין. וְכַד אִתְפְּשָׁט, אִתְעֲבִיד מִצְחָא דְּאַשְׁגָּחוּתָא, לְחַיָּיבֵי עָלְמָא, לְאִינּוּן דְּלָא מִתְכַּסְּפֵי בְּעוֹבָדֵיהוֹן. הֲדָא הוּא דִכְתִיב, (ירמיהו ג׳:ג׳) וּמֵצַח אִשָּׁה זוֹנָה הָיָה לָךְ מֵאַנְתְּ הִכָּלֵם.

From this forehead there goes forth one (Pekudei, folio 237b) hair, which spreads out in it from the brain that brings forth fifty gates. And when it spreads out, it becomes a forehead of visitation for the wicked of the world, for those who are not ashamed of their deeds. This is what is written, “Yet you had a harlot's forehead, you refused to be ashamed” (Jer. 3, 3).

Segment 3ג׳

וְתַנְיָא, שַׂעֲרָא לָא קָאִים בְּהַאי אֲתָר דְּמִצְחָא, בְּגִין דְּאִתְגַּלְיָיא לְאִינּוּן דְּחַצִּיפִין בְּחוֹבַיְיהוּ. וְשַׁעֲתָא דְּמִתְּעַר קוּדְשָׁא בְּרִיךְ הוּא לְאִשְׁתַּעְשְׁעָא עִם צַדִּיקַיָּיא, נְהִירִין אַנְפּוֹהִי דְּעַתִּיק יוֹמִין, בְּאַנְפּוֹי דִּזְעֵיר אַפִּין, וּמִתְגַּלְיָא מִצְחֵיהּ, וְנָהִיר לְהַאי מִצְחָא, וּכְדֵין אִתְקְרֵי עֵת רָצוֹן. וְכָל שַׁעֲתָא וְשַׁעֲתָא דְּדִינָא תָּלֵי, וְהַאי מִצְחָא דִּזְעֵיר אַפִּין אִתְגַּלְיָיא, אִתְגַּלְיָיא מִצְחָא דְּעַתִּיקָא דְּעַתִּיקִין, וְאִשְׁתְּכִיךְ דִּינָא, וְלָא אִתְעָבִיד.

And it has been taught: hair does not stand in this place of the forehead, because it is revealed to those who are brazen in their sins. And at the hour when the Holy One, blessed be He, is aroused to delight Himself with the righteous, the face of the Ancient of Days shines in the face of the Small of Countenance, and His forehead is revealed and shines upon this forehead, and then it is called a time of favour. And at each and every hour that judgement hangs, and this forehead of the Small of Countenance is revealed, the forehead of the Ancient of Ancients is revealed, and judgement is assuaged and is not executed.
