Segment 1א׳
(ויקרא כ״א:ה׳) לֹא יִקְרְחֻה קָרְחָה בְּרֹאשָׁם. רִבִּי יוֹסֵי אָמַר, לֹא יִקְרְחֻה בְּהֵ"א מַאי טַעֲמָא. אֶלָּא, הַהוּא שֶׁמֶן עִלָּאָה, דְּאִיהוּ מְשַׁח רְבוּת קוּדְשָׁא, דְּאַשְׁלִים לְכָל שִׁבְעָה יוֹמִין כְּמָה דְּאִתְּמַר, דִּכְתִּיב, (ויקרא ח׳:ל״ג) כִּי שִׁבְעַת יָמִים יְמַלֵּא אֶת יֶדְכֶם, הַהוּא שֶׁמֶן עִלָּאָה אִתְעָדֵי מִנֵּיהּ וְאִתְקְרַח, אִי אִיהוּ אַפְגִּים רֵישֵׁיהּ. בְּגִין דְּרֵישָׁא דְּכַהֲנָא עִלָּאָה, הַהוּא שֶׁמֶן עִלָּאָה הֲוִי, וְעַל דָּא לָא לִיבְעֵי לֵיהּ לְכַהֲנָא דִּלְתַתָּא, לְאַחֲזָאָה בֵּיהּ בְּגַרְמֵיהּ פְּגִימוּ כְּלַל, וְהָא אִתְּמַר. וּבְגִין כַּךְ כְּתִיב בְּהֵ"א.
THEY SHALL NOT MAKE BALDNESS UPON THEIR HEAD. R. Jose said: ‘The reason is that on the head of the supernal Priest is the holy oil of anointing, the removal of which would cause baldness; and therefore the priest below must perform an action symbolical of this.”

פָּתַח וְאָמַר, (תהילים קכ״ו:א׳) בְּשׁוּב יְיָ' אֶת שִׁיבַת צִיּוֹן הָיִינוּ כְּחוֹלְמִים. בְּשׁוּב יְיָ' אֶת שִׁיבַת, דָּא בְּגָלוּת בָּבֶל אִתְּמַר. דְּלָא אִשְׁתְּכָחוּ יַתִיר בְּגָלוּתָא אֶלָּא שִׁבְעִין שְׁנִין. דִּכְתִיב, (ירמיהו כ״ט:י׳) כִּי לְפִי מְלֹאת לְבָבֶל שִׁבְעִים שָׁנָה אֶפְקוֹד אֶתְכֶם. וּכְתִיב הָיִינוּ כְּחוֹלְמִים, מַאי כְּחוֹלְמִים. אֶלָּא הָא אַתְעֲרוּ חַבְרַיָּיא, דְּאִיכָּא שִׁבְעִין שְׁנִין בְּחֶלְמָא.
He opened and said: “When the Lord brought back those that returned to Zion, we were like those who dream” (Ps. 126, 1). “When the Lord brought back those that returned”: this was said of the Babylonian exile, for they were not found in exile more than seventy years, as it is written, “After seventy years are accomplished for Babylon I will remember you” (Jer. 29, 10). And it is written, “we were like those who dream.” What is “like those who dream”? The Companions have already stirred this: that there are seventy years in a dream.
