Segment 1א׳

(ויקרא כ״ג:מ״ב) בַּסֻּכֹּת תֵּשְׁבוּ חָסֵר, וְדָא עֲנָנָא חַד, דְּכֻלְּהוּ קְשִׁירִין בֵּיהּ. דִּכְתִּיב, כִּי עֲנַן יְיָ' עֲלֵיהֶם יוֹמָם. וּכְתִיב, (במדבר י״ד:י״ד) וּבְעַמּוּד עָנָן אַתָּה הוֹלֵךְ לִפְנֵיהֶם יוֹמָם. דָּא הוּא עֲנָנָא דְּאַהֲרֹן, דְּאִקְרֵי יוֹמָם, דִּכְתִּיב, (תהילים מ״ב:ט׳) יוֹמָם יְצַוְּה יְיָ' חַסְדּוֹ. עֲנָנָא חַד, נָטִיל עִמֵּיהּ חָמֵשׁ אָחֳרָנִין, וְאִינּוּן שִׁית. וַעֲנָנָא אָחֳרָא, דִּכְתִּיב וּבְעַמּוּד אֵשׁ לָיְלָה, דָּא נָהֲרָא לְהוּ לְיִשְׂרָאֵל, מִנְהִירוּ דְּאִינּוּן שִׁית.

YE SHALL DWELL IN BOOTHS.The word succoth (booths) is written without a vau, to show that there is one cloud to which all the others are linked.

Segment 2ב׳

רעיא מהימנא (ויקרא כ״ג:מ״ב) בַּסֻּכֹּת תֵּשְׁבוּ שִׁבְעַת יָמִים וְגוֹ', פִּקּוּדָא (מ"ה) דָּא, לֵישֵׁב בַּסּוּכָּה. וְהָא אוֹקִימְנָא, בְּגִין לְאִתְחֲזָאָה דְּיִשְׂרָאֵל יַתְבֵי בְּרָזָא דִּמְהֵימְנוּתָא, בְּלָא דְּחִילוּ כְּלָל, דְּהָא מְקַטְרְגָא אִתְפְּרַשׁ מִנַּיְיהוּ. וְכָל מַאן דְּאִיהוּ בְּרָזָא דִּמְהֵימְנוּתָא, יָתִיב בַּסּוּכָּה. כְּמָה דְּאוֹקִימְנָא, דִּכְתִּיב, כָּל הָאֶזְרָח בְּיִשְׂרָאֵל יִשְׁבוּ בַּסֻּכּוֹת. מַאן דְּאִיהוּ בְּרָזָא דִּמְהֵימְנוּתָא, וּמִזַּרְעָא וְשָׁרְשָׁא דְּיִשְׂרָאֵל, יִשְׁבוּ בַּסֻּכּוֹת. וְרָזָא דָּא אִתְּמַר בְּכַמָּה דּוּכְתֵּי.

Ra'aya Meheimna. “You shall dwell in booths seven days,” etc. (Lev. 23, 42). This precept (45) is to dwell in the booth. And we have explained it: so that it may be shown that Israel dwell in the mystery of faith, without any fear at all, for the accuser has departed from them. And whoever is in the mystery of faith dwells in the booth, as we have explained; for it is written, “All that are homeborn in Israel shall dwell in booths.” Whoever is in the mystery of faith, and of the seed and the root of Israel, “shall dwell in booths”. And this mystery has been stated in many places.

Segment 3ג׳

פִּקּוּדָא (מ"ו) בָּתַר דָּא, לְקָרְבָא קָרְבְּנָא בְּכָל יוֹמָא, וְקָרְבְּנָא דָּא, לְמֶהֱוִי חוּלָקָא בְּכֹלָּא, בְּחֶדְוָותָא דִּבְנוֹי. בְּגִין דְּכֻלְּהוּ אֲחִידָן בְּאִילָנָא. עַנְפִין דִּלְתַתָּא דִּלְגַּבֵּי שָׁרְשָׁא דְּאִילָנָא, כֹּלָּא אִתְבָּרְכָן בְּגִין אִילָנָא. אַף עַל גַּב דְּלֵית בְּהוּ תּוֹעַלְתָּא, כֹּלָּא אִתְבָּרְכָאן. וְחֶדְוָותָא דְּיִשְׂרָאֵל בַּאֲבוּהוֹן דִּלְעֵילָּא, יַהֲבֵי חוּלָקָא דְּבִרְכָּאן, לְכָל אִינּוּן שְׁאָר עַמִּין, דְּאִית לוֹן אֲחִידוּ, וְאִתְאַחֲדוּ בְּהוּ בְּיִשְׂרָאֵל.

The precept (46) after this one is to offer an offering every day. And this offering is so that there may be a portion in all, in the joy of His children; because they are all held in the tree. The branches below, which are toward the root of the tree — all are blessed for the tree's sake; although there is no profit in them, all are blessed. And in the joy of Israel in their Father above, they give a portion of the blessings to all those other nations, who have a hold, and who are held to Israel.

Segment 4ד׳

וְכָל אִלֵּין קָרְבְּנִין, לְמֵיהַב מְזוֹנָא, לְאִינּוּן מְמָנָן דִּשְׁאָר עַמִּין, דְּהָא מִגּוֹ רְחִימוּ דְּקָא רָחִים קוּדְשָׁא בְּרִיךְ הוּא לִבְנוֹי, בָּעֵי דְּכֹלָּא יֵהוֹן רְחִימִין דִּלְהוֹן. וְרָזָא דָּא, (משלי ט״ז:ז׳) בִּרְצּוֹת יְיָ' דַּרְכֵי אִישׁ גַּם אוֹיְבָיו יַשְׁלִים אִתּוֹ. אֲפִילּוּ כָּל אִינּוּן מְקַטְרְגֵי עִלָּאֵי כֻּלְּהוּ אֲהַדְּרָן רְחִימִין לְיִשְׂרָאֵל וְכַד חַיָּילִין דִּלְעֵילָּא אָהַדְרוּ רְחִימִין לְיִשְׂרָאֵל, כָּל אִינּוּן דִּלְתַתָּא, עַל אַחַת כַּמָה וְכַמָּה.

And all these offerings are to give food to those appointed over the other nations; for out of the love with which the Holy One, blessed be He, loves His children, He desires that all should become their friends. And the mystery of this is, “When the Lord favours a man's ways, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him” (Prov. 16, 7). Even all those supernal accusers all turn back into friends to Israel; and when the hosts above have turned back into friends to Israel, all those below, how much more so.

Segment 5ה׳

וְאִי תֵּימָא לְהוֹן הֲווֹ מְקָרְבֵי קָרְבְּנָא, לָאו הָכִי, אֶלָּא כֹּלָּא לְּקוּדְשָׁא בְּרִיךְ הוּא סָלִיק וּמִתְקָרֵב. וְאִיהוּ פָּרִישׁ מְזוֹנָא לְכֻלְּהוּ אוּכְלוּסִין דְּסִטְרִין אָחֳרָנִין, דְּיִתְהֲנוּן בְּהַהוּא דּוֹרוֹנָא דִּבְנוֹי, וְיִתְהַדְרוּן רְחִימִין דִּלְהוֹן, דְּיִנְדְּעוּן עֵילָּא וְתַתָּא, דְּהָא לֵית עַמָּא כְּעַמָּא דְּיִשְׂרָאֵל, דְּאִינּוּן חוּלָקֵיהּ וְעַדְבֵיהּ דְּקוּדְשָׁא בְּרִיךְ הוּא, וְאִסְתַּלָּק יְקָרָא דְּקוּדְשָׁא בְּרִיךְ הוּא עֵילָּא וְתַתָּא כְּדְקָא יָאוּת. וְכָל אוּכְלוּסִין עִלָּאִין פַּתְחֵי וְאַמְרֵי, (שמואל ב ז׳:כ״ג) וּמִי כְעַמְּךָ כְּיִשְׂרָאֵל גּוֹי אֶחָד בָּאָרֶץ. And if you should say that it was to them that they offered the offering — it is not so; rather, all of it ascends and is offered to the Holy One, blessed be He. And He apportions food to all those hosts of the other sides, so that they may take pleasure in that present of His children, and may turn back into friends to them, so that those above and those below may know that there is no nation like the nation of Israel, who are the portion and the lot of the Holy One, blessed be He. And the glory of the Holy One, blessed be He, is raised up above and below as is fitting. And all the supernal hosts open and say, “And who is like Your people, like Israel, one nation in the earth” (II Sam. 7, 23). (Tikkunim, folio 152.) (End of Ra'aya Meheimna)
