R. Simeon was going on the road, and with him were R. Judah, R. Jose and R. Hizkiah. R. Simeon opened and said: “He has given food to those who fear Him; He will ever be mindful of His covenant” (Ps. 111, 5). “He has given food to those who fear Him”: these are the righteous, those who fear the Holy One, blessed be He; for whoever fears Him is counted among the men of the King's house, and of him it is written, “Happy is the man that fears the Lord” (Ps. 112, 1).
Segment 2

What is “He has given food to those who fear Him”? It is as it is written, “She rises also while it is yet night, and gives food to her household” (Prov. 31, 15). From here we learn that every man who labours in the Torah by night, and rises at midnight, at the hour when the Community of Israel awakens to set the King's house in order — such a man has a share with her, and he is called one of the King's house, and they give him every day of those provisions of the house. That is what is written, “and gives food to her household, and a portion to her maidens.” Who is “her household”? All those who have a share with her by night are called her household, the children of her house. And therefore, “He has given food to those who fear Him.”
Segment 3
What is “food”? Food indeed, for she takes it from a far and supernal place, as it is written, “she brings her bread from afar” (Prov. 31, 14). And who merits this food? The end of the verse proves it, for it is written, “He will ever be mindful of His covenant” (Ps. 111, 9): one who gives heed to the Torah, to have a share with her by night. And more than that: the Holy One, blessed be He, has one supernal Zaddik, and he has a share with Him, and the two of them give inheritance to the Community of Israel, as it is written, “Your people also shall be all righteous, they shall inherit the land for ever” (Isa. 60, 21).
