Segment 1א׳

הֵיכָלָא שְׁתִיתָאָה הָכָא הוּא רוּחָא דְּאִקְרֵי חוּ"ט הַשָּׁנִי, רָזָא דִּכְתִיב, (שיר השירים ד׳:ג׳) כְּחוּט הַשָּׁנִי שִׂפְתוֹתַיִךְ, הַאי הֵיכָלָא (היכלא דאקרי) אִקְרֵי הֵיכַּל הָרָצוֹן, הָכָא רוּחָא דְאִיהוּ רַעֲוָא דְּכָל הָנֵי רוּחִין תַּתָּאִין רָהֲטִין אֲבַתְרֵיהּ לְאִתְדַּבְּקָא בֵּיהּ בִּנְשִׁיקָה בִּרְחִימוּתָא.

The sixth palace. Here is the spirit that is called a thread of scarlet, the mystery of what is written: “Your lips are like a thread of scarlet” (S. S. 4, 3). This palace is called the palace of desire. Here is the spirit that is the desire which all these lower spirits run after, to cleave to it in a kiss, in love.

Segment 2ב׳

הַאי רוּחָא אִתְכְּלִיל בְּשִׁית. וְקָיְימָא בְּשִׁית. אִתְכְּלִיל בְּשִׁית דִּלְתַתָּא בַּהֲדֵיהּ. וְקָיְימָא בְּשִׁית עִלָּאִין. וּבְגִין כָךְ הַאי רוּחָא אַפִּיק תְּרֵיסַר נְהוֹרִין כְּלִילָן כֻּלְהוּ מִתַּתָּא וּמִלְּעֵילָא, הָנֵי תְּרֵיסַר נְהוֹרִין אִנּוּן חָדוּן לְסַלְקָא לְעֵילָא וּלְקַבְּלָא כָּל אִנּוּן דִּלְתַתָּא.

This spirit is comprised in six and stands in six: it is comprised in the six below together with it, and it stands in the six supernal ones. Therefore this spirit brings forth twelve lights, all of them comprised from below and from above. These twelve lights rejoice to ascend above and to receive all those below.

Segment 3ג׳

הֵיכָלָא דָא דְּאִיהוּ רָצוֹן רַעֲוָא דְּכֹלָּא, מָאן דְּקָשַׁר קִשְׁרִין, וְסָלִיק לוֹן הָכָא, דָּא הוּא דְּאַפִּיק רָצוֹן מֵיְיָ בַּחֲבִיבוּתָא. בְּגוֹ הֵיכָלָא דָּא אִתְכְּנִישׁ משֶׁה בִּרְחִימוּ דְּנָשִׁיק נְשִׁיקֵי רְחִימוּתָא. הַאי הוּא הֵיכָלָא דְּמשֶׁה. רוּחָא דָא רוּחָא דִרְחִימוּתָא, רוּחָא דְיִחוּדָא דְּאַמְשִׁיךְ רְחִימוּ לְכָל סִטְרִין.

This palace, which is desire, the desire of all — whoever ties knots and raises them here, he it is who draws forth desire from the Lord in affection. Within this palace Moses was gathered in, in the love of one who kisses the kisses of love. This is the palace of Moses. This spirit is the spirit of love, the spirit of unification that draws love to every side.

Segment 4ד׳

וְאִנּוּן (ד"א אנון) תְּרֵיסַר נְהוֹרִין סָלְקִין וְלָהֲטִין. מִנְּצִיצוּ דִּלְהוֹן נָפְקֵי אַרְבַּע חֵיוָון קַדִּישִׁין רְחִימֵי דְאַהֲבָה, אִלֵּין אִקְרוּן חַיּוֹת גְדוֹלוֹת לְאִתְחַבְּרָא אִנּוּן זוּטֵי לְאִתְכְּלָלָא בְּהוּ, דִּכְתִיב, (תהילים ק״ד:כ״ה) חַיּוֹת קְטַנּוֹת עִם גְּדוֹלוֹת.

And those twelve lights ascend and blaze. From their sparkling issue four holy Hayyoth, lovers of love. These are called the great living creatures, so that the small ones may join and be comprised in them, as it is written: “small living creatures together with great” (Ps. 104, 25).

Segment 5ה׳

אִלֵּין אֲחִידָן דָּא בְּדָא לְד' סִטְרִין, כֶּאֱגוֹזָא דְּמִתְחַבְּרָא לְד' סִטְרִין, וּבְּגִין כָּךְ אִקְרֵי הֵיכָלָא דָא, גִּנַּת אֱגוֹז דִּכְתִיב, (שיר השירים ו׳:י״א) אֶל גִּנַּת אֱגוֹז יָרַדְתִּי, מַאי אֶל גִּנַּת אֱגוֹז, בְּגִינֵיהּ דְּגִנַּת אֱגוֹז יָרַדְתִּי דְּאִיהוּ הֵיכָלָא דִּרְחִימוּ לְאִתְדַּבְּקָא דְּכוּרָא בְּנוּקְבָא.

These hold to one another on four sides, like a nut that is joined on four sides; and therefore this palace is called the garden of nuts, as it is written: “I went down into the garden of nuts” (S. S. 6, 11). What is “into the garden of nuts”? For the sake of the garden of nuts I went down: that is the palace of love, for the male to cleave to the female.
