Segment 1

The fourth palace. This palace differs from all of them. There are four palaces to it, one within another, and all of them are one palace. Here is the spirit that is called Zechut (merit). In this place the merit of all the sons of the world is turned over. This spirit takes up all.

Segment 2

From it issued seventy lights, all of them sparkling, and all of them in a circle, for they do not spread out like those others. They cleave one to another and give light one to another and are held one to another. All the merits of the world stand before these lights. From them all there issue two lights, weighed as one, which stand before them continually.

Segment 3

Corresponding to these are the seventy chiefs appointed without, who encircle all four palaces. These seventy lights, and the two lights that stand before them, are all inward, within the innermost. And the inner meaning of this is what is written, “Your belly is like a heap of wheat set about with lilies” (S. S. 7, 3).
