Zohar, Bereshit 66
Section 66 of 102 in Bereshit — 18 segments
Segment 1
The third palace. This palace is the palace of that spirit which is called Nogah (brightness). This spirit is pure, clearer than them all: it has no colour that can be seen in it — not white, not green, not black, not red — and therefore it is called Tohar (purity), pure and clear of all these lower ones. And although it is purer than all, it is not seen until these lower ones revolve and take hold of it and enter within it. Once they have entered within it, then it shows its light, and not one colour of them all.
Segment 2
When this spirit is made complete from all those below, it brings forth from itself a light comprising three lights. Those two lights ascend and descend and flash. In that flashing there appear twenty-two lights, differing one from another, and all of them one light; and they enter within that one light, and that light comprises them.
Segment 3
And it does not shine, except at the time when these lights below ascend and the will of prayer takes them all up. Then that light goes forth from within that spirit; that light is kindled and brings forth these two flashing lights, and they appear as the number of the twenty-two letters of the Torah. Afterwards they return and are comprised within that light.
