Segment 1א׳

הֵיכָלָא קַדְמָאָה כְּתִיב, (שמות כ״ד:י׳) וְתַחַת רַגְלָיו כְּמַעֲשֵׂה לִבְנַת הַסַּפִּיר וּכְעֶצֶם הַשָּׁמַיִם לָטֹהַר. רָזָא דְרָזִין (ד"א אית) רוּחַ דְּאִקְרֵי סַפִּירָא. כְּסַפִּירוּ דְּאֶבֶן טָבָא נָצִיץ לִתְרֵין סִטְרִין. נְהוֹרָא חַד סָלִיק וְנָחִית. וְהַהוּא נְהוֹרָא חִוָּור נָצִיץ לְכָל סְטַר עֵילָא וְתַתָּא וּלְאַרְבַּע סִטְרֵי עָלְמָא. נְהוֹרֵיהּ תַּלְיָין סָתִים וְגַלְיָיא.

The first palace. It is written, “and there was under His feet the like of a paved work of sapphire stone, and like the substance of heaven for clearness” (Ex. 24, 10). Mystery of mysteries: a spirit that is called Sappira (sapphire). Like the sapphire brightness of a precious stone it sparkles to two sides. One light ascends and descends. And that white light sparkles to every side, above and below and to the four quarters of the world. Its lights hang suspended, hidden and revealed.

Segment 2ב׳

מִנְהוֹרָא דָא מִתְפָּרְשִׁין ד' נְהוֹרִין לְד' סִטְרִין. וְכֻלְהוּ נְהוֹרִין חַד נְהוֹרָא. כְּבוּצִינָא דְּשַׁרְגָּא דְּדָלִיק וְנָצִיץ נְהוֹרִין לְחֵיזוּ דְעַיְינִין דִּבְנֵי נְשָׁא. וְאִנּוּן נְהוֹרִין דִּשְׁרַגָּא סָלְקִין וְנַחֲתִין אָזְלִין וְתַיְיבִין מִגּוֹ הַהוּא אֶשָׁא דִנְהוֹרָא דְּשַׁרְגָּא דְּדָלִיק וְכֻלְהוּ חַד נְהוֹרָא. הָכִי נָמֵי אִלֵּין. וּנְצִיצִין כֻּלְהוּ נְהוֹרִין כְּחֵיזוּ דִנְחָשָׁא בְּטִישָׁא בְּסוּמְקָא כְּמָה דְּאִתְּמָר (יחזקאל א׳:ז׳) וְנוֹצְצִים כְּעֵין נְחשֶׁת קָלָל. דָּא הוּא לְיָמִינָא.

From this light four lights branch out to four sides, and all the lights are one light — like the flame of a lamp that burns and sparkles lights to the sight of men’s eyes. And those lights of the lamp ascend and descend, go and return, out of that fire of the light of the burning lamp, and they are all one light. So too are these. And all the lights sparkle like the appearance of beaten brass in red, as it is said, “and they sparkled like the colour of burnished brass” (Ezek. 1, 7). This is to the right.

Segment 3ג׳

לִשְׂמָאלָא אִית רוּחָא דְאִקְרֵי לְבָנָה. וְדָא אִתְכְּלִיל בְּרוּחָא קַדְמָאָה וְעָאל דָּא בְּדָא. נְהוֹרֵיהּ סוּמָק וְחִוַּור כְּחֲדָא. בְּגִין דְּנַפְקָא מֵאִנּוּן נְהוֹרִין קַדְמָאִין. כַּד אָתוּ נְהוֹרִין דְּדָא מָטוּ בִּנְהוֹרִין קַדְמָאִין וְאִתְכְּלִילוּ בֵּיהּ וְאִנּוּן חָד. וְאִתְחַזּוּן נְהוֹרֵי קַדְמָאֵי בִּלְחוֹדַיְיהוּ. וְלָא אִתְגַּלְיָין אִנּוּן אָחֳרָנִין וְלָא אִתְיְדָעוּ דְּעָאלוּ בְּגַוַויְיהוּ וְאִתְטַמְּרוּ בֵּיהּ. כְּמָא דְאַתְּ אָמֵר (בראשית מ״א:כ״א) וְלֹא נוֹדַע כִּי בָּאוּ אֶל קִרְבֶּנָּה וְגו'. וְדָא הוּא רוּחָא בְּרוּחָא דְּאִנּוּן חַד. נְהוֹרִין בִּנְהוֹרִין דְּאִנּוּן חַד. וְהָכָא אִנּוּן תְּרֵין תַּרְעִין (רקיעין) תַּתָּאִין מֵאִנּוּן רְקִיעִין דְּאִקְרוּן (ס"א שמים) שְׁמֵי הַשָּׁמַיִם (רקיע).

To the left there is a spirit that is called Levanah. And this one is comprised in the first spirit, and this enters into that. Its light is red and white together, because it issues from those first lights. When the lights of this one came, they reached the first lights and were comprised in it, and they are one. And the first lights are seen alone, and those others are not disclosed, and it is not known that they entered within them and were hidden in it, as it says, “and it could not be known that they had gone in to them, etc.” (Gen. 41, 21). And this is spirit within spirit, which are one; lights within lights, which are one. And here are the two lower gates of those firmaments that are called “the heaven of heavens”.
