Segment 1
Seven supernal days the Holy One, blessed be He, created in the world, and upon them He planted and built worlds. This is what is written, “For six days the Lord made” (Ex. 20, 11) — and it is not written, “in six days”. And corresponding to those seven supernal days He created on earth seven truly righteous men, to uphold them and to give them light, each one corresponding to his own day. And He planted them, each one in the generation fitting for him. And they are the fathers of the world: Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and Joseph and Moses and Aaron and David.
Segment 2
And they are called mountains, the ancient mountains, for they hang from those seven supernal days of which we have spoken: the six days of Creation, and the seventh which stands before them. This is what is written, “and the house of David shall be as God, as the angel of the Lord before them” (Zech. 12, 8). And although he is the seventh, he is the fourth among the days; and Joseph is the seventh. But when she is included in Joseph, and she gives him an added delight from the house of the King, she too is called the seventh.
Segment 3
And they all hold fast to her, to the Shekinah, in the mystery of the seven; for the Shekinah is called bat sheva. Bat — from the supernal Mother; for she is the sum of the seven grades that are with her. And she is the grade of Zedek, the tenth of the sefirot, by which the Holy One, blessed be He, is named.
