Section 7 of 18 in Addenda, Volume III — 8 segments
Segment 1
And can a man do charity at every time? If so, twelve hours in a day — who can? Rather, thus we have learnt: whoever does charity at every time. What is “at every time”? As it says, “and let him not come at all times into the holy place” (Lev. 16, 2), as has been explained.
Segment 2
And do not say, in the Community of Israel alone, who is a time of holy favour in the Righteous One. Rather, even at every time below He increases charity upon them and rouses charity in them all, in the upper and in the lower. Therefore let a man set his heart and his will, and let him cleave to the Holy One, blessed be He.
Segment 3
When they came before R. Simeon they told him what had happened. He said: And is this one alone so? Even everyone who holds to the tree of life is delivered in this world, and even from the death of the world, unlike the rest of men — all the more so afterwards.
