Section 17 of 18 in Addenda, Volume III — 11 segments
Segment 1
And all these letters are (a variant reads: judgements) to the other sides and to the sinners; they are like chains and spears to the limbs. The teruah is a shalshelet (a chain), and there are two teruot in the ten shofar blasts; and they are, one of them from Koph-Shin-Resh-Koph and the second from Koph-Resh-Koph, and they are the Central Column. And it has been taught: the Righteous One…
Segment 2
Each one is the Central Column, Israel. A third to the tekiah of Abraham — plain mercies; and to the shevarim of Isaac — judgements, breakings of the heart, for shevarim are a term of breaking, as it is written, (Ex. 23, 24) “You shall surely break their pillars.” The Righteous One is the third shalshelet, set in the middle between His hosts, the two lips: a tekiah before it and a tekiah after it.
Segment 3
They are called two trumpets of silver when they draw from mercy, which is the right; they are called two cherubim of gold from the side of gevurah, for the cherubim are there, and the face of an ox is from the left. And all ten are bound in another knot, which is the sign KeSHeR: tekiah, shevarim, teruah.
