Segment 1
A precept: to perform the levirate duty with a brother’s wife. And this mystery we have explained: that he does kindness and truth with his dead brother, that he may not be cut off from that world. For that man who dies without children does not pass the wall of iron to enter within the palace of the King.
Segment 2
For a wall of iron stands between this world and the other world; and behind that wall stand a thousand and sixty myriads of destroying angels, and they are all called masters of shields, masters of enmity. Sharpened swords of fire, flaming in their hands. And within that wall there are sixty thousand palaces of darkness, and in each and every palace there are windows opened to Gehinnom.
Segment 3
And all those who have not merited children in this world, when they go out from it and go to enter that other world, meet with that wall; and all those masters of shields come out and drive them off, and bring them into those palaces, and they sit there until they are redeemed. And every day they taste the taste of Gehinnom, even though he is righteous — unless his merit is great, and the merit of the fathers. And these are those who laboured for children and were not able. For all those from whom the supernal likeness has not spread out in this world do not enter within that world.
