Segment 1א׳

דְּאִינוּן חַד נָהָר וְגַן. נָהָר דְּנָפִיק מֵעֵדֶן וְגַן דְּאִשְׁתַּקֵי מִנֵּיהּ. הַכָא כָּל רָזָא סְתִימָא דִּמְהֵימָנוּתָא. ואוֹלִיפְנָא, הַאי מַאן דְּאִתְעָר בְּלֵילְיָא, בְּהַהִיא שַׁעֲתָא דְּעָאל קוּדְשָׁא בְּרִיךְ הוּא בַּהֲדֵי צַדִּיקַיָּיא בְּגִנְתָּא. אִיצְטְרִיךְ לוֹמַר קְרָא דָא, בִּרְעוּתָא דְּלִבָּא. וּלְכַוְונָא דַּעְתֵּיהּ בֵּיהּ. וּבָתַר (תהילים קל״ט:י״ד) אוֹדְךָ עַל כִּי נוֹרָאוֹת נִפְלֵאתִי נִפְלָאִים מַעֲשֶׂיךָ וְנַפְשִׁי יוֹדַעָת מְאֹד. (ולבתר ונהר יוצא מעדן וגו') וְהַיְינוּ שְׁבָחָא דְּחַסִידֵי קַדְמָאֵי כַּד מִתְעָרֵי בְּפַלְגוּת לֵילְיָא. וּבָתַר מֵסָדְרֵי שִׁבְחַיְיהוּ וְלָעָאן בְּאוֹרַיְיתָא.

For they are one: a river and a garden — the river that goes out of Eden, and the garden that is watered from it. Here is the whole hidden mystery of faith. And we have learnt: whoever rouses himself in the night, at that hour when the Holy One, blessed be He, enters among the righteous in the Garden, must say this verse with the will of the heart and concentrate his mind upon it; and afterwards, “I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; wonderful are Your works, and my soul knows it well” (Ps. 139, 14). (And afterwards, “And a river went out of Eden”, and so forth.) And this is the praise of the pious men of old when they roused themselves at midnight. And afterwards they would set their praises in order and study the Torah.

Segment 2ב׳

שָׁעְשׁוּעָא דְּקוּדְשָׁא בְּרִיךְ הוּא מַאי הוּא. אֶלָּא, כָּל צַדִּיקַיָּיא דְּקָיְמִין בְּדִיוּקְנָיְיהוּ מִתְלַבְּשָׁן בְּגִנְתָּא בְּכָל יוֹמָא וְיוֹמָא. כֵּיוָן דְּאִתְסָחַאן בְּטַלָּא דְּזָמִין קוּדְשָׁא בְּרִיךְ הוּא לְאַחָיָיא בֵּיהּ מֵתַיָּיא, עָאלִין כּוּלְהוֹן לְגַבֵּי מָשִׁיחַ וְשַׁאֲלִין מָה דְּשָׁאַלִין, וְהָא אִתְעָרוּ חַבְרַיָּיא.

What is the delight of the Holy One, blessed be He? Rather, all the righteous who stand in their forms are clothed in the Garden every single day. Once they have been bathed in the dew with which the Holy One, blessed be He, is destined to revive the dead, they all go in to the Messiah and ask what they ask; and the Companions have discussed it.

Segment 3ג׳

לְבָתַר מִתְכַּנְּשִׁין וּמִשְׁתַּדְלִין כּוּלְּהוּ בְּדַּעְתָּא עִילָאָה דְּכוּלְהוּ מְתִיבְתֵי דְּתַּמָּן וְעָלַיְיהוּ כַּמָה מְמָנָן. וּמִתְחַדְשֵׁי תַּמָּן כַּמָה חִדּוּשִׁין בְּאוֹרַיְיתָא. לְבָתַר נָפְקֵי כּוּלְּהוּ וְחָמָאן כַּד אָתֵי אֵלִיָהוּ לְגַבֵּי אֲבָהָן. אִיהוּ נָפִיק וְאִינְהוּ עָאלִין וְקַיְימָן קַמֵי אֲבָהָן וְחַדּוּ בְּהוּ בְּכַמָּה בְּנִין קַדִּישִׁין דְּבְּסָחֲרַנָיְיהוּ וְחַדָּאן כּוּלְּהוּ.

Afterwards they gather, and they all labour in the supernal knowledge of all the academies that are there, and over them are many chieftains. And many new expositions in the Torah are renewed there. Afterwards they all go out and see, when Elijah comes to the Patriarchs. He goes out and they go in and stand before the Patriarchs, and they rejoice in them, in the many holy sons that are round about them, and they all rejoice.
