Se’if 1א׳
The lung has two membranes. If they were perforated, this one without that one, or this one not over against that one, it is fit — until both of them are perforated, this one over against that one (Tur in the name of Rashba). Hagah [Rema]: And there are those who declare it a tereifah (an animal with a fatal defect) where they were perforated, this one not over against that one (Hagahot Asheri on chapter "These are the tereifot" and Rabbeinu Yerucham and Issur v'Heter he-Aroch and other authorities), and such is the practice.
Se’if 2ב׳
Even if the upper membrane was flayed (that is, peeled off) in its entirety, it is fit, save that it requires examination. Hagah [Rema]: However, if a blister is found on the place where the upper skin was peeled off, it is to be declared a tereifah, for it is like a membrane that formed on account of a wound (Bedikot Yeshanim). There are those who say that if they inflated the lung and the membrane tore on account of the inflation, it is a tereifah (Bedikot).
Se’if 3ג׳
If it was perforated and a membrane formed over it and it was stopped up, it is a tereifah.
