Siman 325 of 402 in Yoreh De'ah — 2 se'ifim
Se’if 1א׳
Two batches of dough, neither of which has the measure: if they touch one another until they stick a little one to the other, they join together, if they are of a kind fit to join, as was explained in siman 324. And if they do not stick, and they are in one basket, the basket joins them — even after it was baked and became bread. And if he put them on a board that has no rim, they do not join. Hagah [Rema]: And therefore, when he joins them in a vessel, he must be careful that nothing sticks out above the walls of the vessel — that is, that a whole loaf or dough should not be above the walls of the vessel (Tur). And there is one who says that if he covers the bread with a cloth, it is reckoned as a vessel to join them.
Se’if 2ב׳
If each dough has the measure, and he wishes to separate from this for that, there is no need either of joining by a vessel or of touching; rather, since both are before him, one separates from this for that.
