One who cooks many eggs in their shells shall not take them out of the water in which they were cooked until they cool; or he shall put cold water upon them to cool them and afterwards take them out, because we are concerned lest a chick be found in one of them; and if he were taking them out before they cooled, perhaps the one that has a chick in it would be left with the last ones and would forbid them, since there would not be left there sixty to nullify it. Hagah [Rema]: And if he did not do so, but poured them out into a dish, and one of them was found to be a tereifah (an animal with a fatal defect), there are those who forbid the whole, for we are concerned lest the tereifah was left to the last and there was not sixty in the pot to nullify it, and what was in the pot became forbidden and goes back and forbids all that is in the dish (Beit Yosef in the name of the Semag, and in the Issur v'Heter haAroch). And so too in the case of small fish, where an unclean fish was found in the dish and he did not pour them all out at once into the dish; for then there is ground for concern lest the forbidden food was left to the last. And there are those who permit in every case (Tur in the name of those who say so), for we do not establish a prohibition to say that the forbidden food was left without sixty (Beit Yosef in the name of the Rash). And so is the main ruling. And even according to the opinion of those who forbid, the vessels in which they were cooked are not to be forbidden, for we let the vessel stand upon its presumption. (Beit Yosef in the name of the Semag and Hagahot Maimoni.)
Se’if 2ב׳
A fly, and the like of it among the loathsome things from which a man's soul turns in disgust, that was found in a cooked dish — he throws them out, and the cooked dish is permitted, for what these impaired things exude does not forbid. (and see se'if katan 6) Hagah [Rema]: And such is the plain custom. Even though there are those who are stringent, the words of those who are lenient are the main ruling. (The Beit Yosef ruled like the Rashba and the Rokeach and the Tur, siman 104.) And the custom is not to be changed. And if he took an unclean fish out of the pot with the spoon, or any other thing that does not impair, it is forbidden to put the spoon back into the pot. And if he did put it back, sixty is required from the pot against the forbidden food, and not against the whole spoon. (his own opinion, for we do not say with regard to a vessel that a piece becomes nevelah.) But if there was a little of the cooked dish together with the forbidden food in the spoon and it was put back into the pot, sixty is required also against the little of the cooked dish, for it has become nevelah (a forbidden thing in its own right, as carrion is) in the spoon (Issur v'Heter haAroch, klal 22).
