To tell a shopkeeper to give him eggs or nuts or other kinds of food and drink — its law on a festival day is as on the Sabbath, as was explained above, siman 323 (se'if 4). And if he is a gentile, it is forbidden to take from him a thing whose kind is attached to the ground, or whose kind still lacks trapping, unless it is recognisable in them that they were not picked and were not trapped today; and likewise he may not take eggs from him, lest they were laid today. But a thing in which there is no question of attachment to the ground, nor of trapping, nor of nolad (a thing that came into being on the very day of rest), it is permitted to take from him, even if it was brought today from outside the Sabbath limit. And likewise flour that was ground today, in a city whose majority are gentiles, it is permitted to take from him, since they ground it with the gentiles in mind; and the same applies to taking from him bread that he baked on that day, and likewise if it was baked on the Sabbath before it (Beit Yosef).
Se’if 2ב׳
An Israelite who said to a gentile while it was still day, "Buy me doves for tomorrow," does not do well; but if he has already done so, it is permitted to eat of them on the festival day, provided that they are not birds that can fly. But if he is accustomed to this, it is forbidden to eat of them, for this is not reckoned as after the fact, since he is accustomed to it.
Se’if 3ג׳
To say to one's fellow, "Fill me this whole vessel with wine" — its law on a festival day is as on the Sabbath. Hagah [Rema]: As is stated at siman 323. And the same applies, that it is forbidden to cast lots on a festival day as on the Sabbath, as is stated above, siman 322 (se'if 6).
