Two who were walking in the public domain, one coming with his barrel and one coming with his beam, and they struck against each other, and the barrel broke on the beam — he is exempt, for this one has the right to walk and that one has the right to walk.

If the owner of the beam was first and the owner of the barrel last, and the barrel broke on the beam, he is exempt; and if the owner of the beam stopped to rest from the heaviness of his burden, he is liable; and if he warned the owner of the barrel and said to him, "Stop", he is exempt; and if he stopped to adjust his burden, even though he did not warn him, he is exempt, for he was occupied and could not warn him (and see below, the beginning of siman 413).
Se’if 3ג׳
If the owner of the barrel was first and the owner of the beam last, and the barrel broke on the beam, he is liable; and if the owner of the barrel stopped to rest, he is exempt; and if he warned the owner of the beam to stop, he is liable; and if he stopped to adjust his burden, the owner of the beam is liable, even though the owner of the barrel did not warn him. And likewise where one came with his lamp and another came with his flax.
