Se’if 1א׳

One who receives a field from his fellow, and locusts ate it or it was blighted; it contains two se'ifim. A tenant for a fixed rent, or one who rents a field from his fellow, and locusts ate it or it was blighted: if this thing befell most of the fields of that town, he deducts for him from his rent, all according to the loss that befell; and if the blow did not spread over most of the fields, he does not deduct for him from his rent, even though all the fields of the owner of the land were blighted. If all the fields of the tenant or of the tenant for a fixed rent were blighted, then even though the blow spread over most of the fields, he does not deduct for him from his rent, for this loss depends only on the tenant.

Se’if 2ב׳

If the owner of the land stipulated with him that he should sow it with wheat, and he sowed it with barley; or he did not sow it at all; or he sowed it and it did not sprout — then even though locusts or blight came and most of the region was struck, he does not deduct for him from his rent. And until when is he obliged to take trouble and sow it another time, if it did not sprout? So long as it is fit for sowing in that place. Hagah [Rema]: And this is specifically in a tenancy on shares; but in a fixed-rent tenancy he can buy produce for him from the market and give him his rent (Nimukei Yosef, chapter "One who receives").
