Se’if 1א׳
דין קניית עבד כנעני. ובו ה סעיפים: עבד כנעני דינו כקרקע לקנייה נקנה בכסף או בשטר או בחזקה או בקנין סודר: הגה ונקנה ג"כ במשיכה כגון שתקפו והביאו אליו (טור) וכמו שיתבאר למטה:
The law of the acquisition of a Canaanite slave; it contains five se'ifim. A Canaanite slave — his law is as land as to acquisition: he is acquired by money, or by a document, or by taking possession, or by a kinyan sudar (a formal act of acquisition by handing over a cloth). Hagah [Rema]: And he is also acquired by drawing — for example, he seized him and brought him to himself (Tur) — as will be explained below.
Se’if 2ב׳
במה היא החזקה בקנין העבדים שישתמש בו בפני רבו כדרך שמשתמשין בעבדים ואם הוא שלא בפני רבו צריך שיאמר לו לך חזק וקני:
What is taking possession in the acquisition of slaves? That he makes use of him in his master's presence, in the way that slaves are made use of; and if it is not in his master's presence, the master must say to him: go, take possession and acquire.
Se’if 3ג׳
כיצד התיר לו מנעלו או שהנעיל לו מנעלו או שהוליך כליו אחריו לבית המרחץ או שהפשיטו או סכו או גרדו או הלבישו או הגביה את רבו קנה וי"א שה"ה אם הגביהו רבו:
How? He untied his shoe for him, or put his shoe on for him, or carried his clothes after him to the bathhouse, or undressed him, or anointed him, or scraped him, or dressed him, or lifted his master — he has acquired. And some say that the same law applies if his master lifted him.
