Se’if 1א׳

דין קניית קרקע בחזקה. ובו טז סעיפים: בחזקה כיצד מכר או נתן לו בית או שדה כיון שנעל או גדר או פרץ כל שהוא והועיל במעשיו הרי זה קנה:

The law of the acquisition of land by taking possession; it contains sixteen se'ifim. By taking possession — how? He sold or gave him a house or a field; once he locked, or fenced, or made any breach, and his act was of use, he has acquired.

Se’if 2ב׳

בד"א כשהחזיק בפני המוכר או הנותן אבל שלא בפניו לא קנה אלא א"כ אמר לו לך חזק וקני ואם מסר לו המפתח הוי כאומר לו לך חזק וקני וכן המוכר בור לחבירו כיון שמסר לו דליו הוי כאומר לו לך חזק וקני:

When is this said? When he took possession in the presence of the seller or the giver; but not in his presence he has not acquired, unless the other said to him: go, take possession and acquire. And if he handed him the key, it is as if he said to him: go, take possession and acquire. And likewise one who sells a cistern to his fellow — once he has handed him its bucket, it is as if he said to him: go, take possession and acquire.

Se’if 3ג׳

נעל כיצד מכר או נתן לו בית או חצר והיה הפתח פתוח ונעל הלוקח את הפתח וחזר ופתחו קנה ויש מי שאומר שצריך לנעול במפתח וה"ה אם עשה מנעול לדלת או שהעמיד דלתות י"א דקנה (הכל בטור):

Locking — how? He sold or gave him a house or a courtyard, and the doorway was open, and the buyer locked the doorway and opened it again — he has acquired. And there is one who says that he must lock it with a key. And likewise, if he made a lock for the door or set up doors, some say that he has acquired (all this is in the Tur).
