Se’if 1א׳

דברים שבני החצר כופין זה את זה. ובו ו סעיפים: בני העיר [נ"א החצר] כופין זה את זה לבנות דלת ובית שער לחצר וכן כל הדברים שהחצר צריך להם צורך גדול או הדברים שנהגו בני המדינה לעשותם אבל שאר הדברים כגון ציור וכיור אינו כופהו עשה אחד מעצמו אם גילה השני דעתו שהוא חפץ בו מגלגלין עליו את הכל ונותן לו חלקו בהוצאה:

Things in which the residents of a courtyard compel one another; it contains six se'ifim. The residents of a town (another version: of a courtyard) compel one another to build a door and a gatehouse for the courtyard, and likewise all the things of which the courtyard has great need, or the things that the people of the country are accustomed to make; but other things, such as painting and decoration, he does not compel him. If one made them of himself, and the second revealed his mind that he wants it, they charge him with the whole, and he gives him his share in the expense.

Se’if 2ב׳

מי שיש לו בית בחצר ואינו דר עמהם חייב לעשות עמהם דלת נגר (פי' בריחי עצי שיטים תרגום נגרי אעין דשטין) ומנעול אבל לא שאר דברים:

One who has a house in the courtyard but does not live with them must make with them a door, a bolt (that is, bars of acacia wood; the Targum has nagrei a'in de-shittin) and a lock, but not other things.

Se’if 3ג׳

כשגובין דברים אלו גובין לפי הממון ולא לפי קירוב הבתים דדוקא בעיר אמרו לפי קירוב בתים אבל לא בחצר ויש מי שאומר שדין החצר כדין העיר:

When they collect for these things, they collect according to wealth, and not according to the nearness of the houses; for it was specifically in a town that they said according to the nearness of the houses, but not in a courtyard. And there is one who says that the law of the courtyard is as the law of the town.

Se’if 4ד׳

אם אחד מבני החצר אינו רוצה ליתן בתיקון הצריך ואינו רוצה להשכיר ביתו שבחצר יתקנו הם וישכירו ביתו ויקחו השכירות עד שיפרעו מחלקו המגיע לו:

If one of the residents of the courtyard does not want to give toward the necessary repair, and does not want to rent out his house that is in the courtyard, they make the repair themselves, and rent out his house, and take the rent until they are paid the share that falls to him.

Se’if 5ה׳

אחד מהשותפין בחצר שבקש להעמיד בה בהמה או ריחים (או) לגדל בו תרנגולים חבירו מעכב עליו וכן שאר דברים שאין דרך בני המקום לעשותם בחצרותיהם בכולם השותפין מעכבין זה על זה חוץ מהכביסה לפי שאין דרך בנות ישראל להתבזות על גב הנהר: (ולכן במקום שהאנשים כובסים וליכא האי טעמא יכולין למחות ואפי' לנשים דוקא אי כובסות בד' אמות שלהן וליכא מדרון דאזיל לחלק חבירו אבל אי איכא מדרון וכל שכן אם רצה לכבס בד' אמות של חבירו יכולין למחות) (נ"י פ' חזקת):

One of the partners in a courtyard who sought to keep an animal or a mill in it, (or) to raise chickens in it — his fellow may prevent him; and likewise other things which the people of the place are not accustomed to do in their courtyards — with all of them the partners prevent one another, except for laundering, because it is not the way of the daughters of Israel to be shamed on the bank of the river. (And therefore, in a place where the men do the laundering, and this reason does not apply, they may protest; and even with women, it is specifically if they launder within their own four cubits and there is no slope running to his fellow's share; but if there is a slope, and all the more so if she wants to launder within her fellow's four cubits, they may protest) (Nimukei Yosef, chapter "The presumption of houses").
