Se’if 1א׳
If they divided a garden or a valley, how they make the fence; it contains nine se'ifim. Two who were partners in a garden and come to divide — they oblige them to fence between them, even in an unspecified case where there is no known custom between them; but with a valley, in an unspecified case, they do not oblige him, unless there is a known custom to fence.
Se’if 2ב׳
One who sells a garden to his fellow without specifying, and it was mixed in among other gardens — there is one who says that they compel the buyer to build the wall between them, even in a place where they were accustomed not to fence gardens. Hagah [Rema]: And there are those who disagree and hold that they follow the custom, as with two partners (the Raavad, chapter 2 of the Laws of Neighbours; and Tur also did not distinguish); and so it seems to me the principal view.
Se’if 3ג׳
The measure of the fence in a garden and in a valley is ten handbreadths; and some say four cubits.
