Gematria methods

Milui מילוי · מספר שמי

Milui — also called mispar shemi — values each letter as the standard gematria of its own name spelled out in full: alef is not 1 but אלף, which is 111. Some letter names have more than one authentic spelling; this site's default is the common table of plene letter names with ה and ו spelled as in the milui alfin, ה״א and וא״ו, so the four-letter Name computes to 45 — and ת is תי״ו, 416. Final forms take their base letter's name.

Reading results under Milui

A search under Milui lists every word, every run of adjacent words within a verse, and every whole verse of the Tanakh whose Milui value equals your number — in canonical order, from Bereshit 1:1 forward, never ranked. Searches always answer under the default table on this page; the calculator's alternate spellings change its own figure, never the index.
