Section 39 of 67 in Vayikra — 3 segments
Segment 1
Ra’aya Meheimna. The Faithful Shepherd said: there are places marked out in Gehinnom for those who profane the Sabbaths in public and do not return in repentance from that profanation, and there are chieftains appointed over them. And so too there are places in Gehinnom for those who uncover nakedness; and for those who expound the Torah not according to the halachah; and for those who shed innocent blood; and for those who swear falsely; and for those who lie with a menstruant, or with the daughter of a strange god, or with a harlot, or with a bondwoman. And so too for one who transgresses any of the three hundred and sixty-five negative commandments: for every sin there is a place in Gehinnom, and a chieftain over it.
Segment 2
And Satan, whose evil inclination it is, is appointed over all sins, and the places and the chieftains are his. And if he returns in repentance, what is written? “I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, your transgressions” (Isa. 45): the marks of the wicked in the place of Gehinnom are blotted out from every sin and sin.
Segment 3
And there are sins that are marked above and not below; and there are that are marked below and not above; and there are that are marked below and above. Those blotted out below are blotted out above, after he has returned in repentance. And further, the Masters of the Mishnah have explained: a wicked man — his iniquities are graven upon his bones; a righteous man — his merits are graven upon his bones. Why? So that they may be marked among those who bear their sins, to be recognised by them; and a voice goes forth over him: this wicked man — let his bones be burnt in Gehinnom.
