Segment 1א׳

מַתְּנִיתִּין. בְּנֵי עֶלְיוֹן, קַדִּישֵׁי עֶלְיוֹנִין, בְּרִיכָן (ס"א ברירן) דְּעָלְמָא, מוֹחָא דֶּאֱגוֹזָא. כְּנָשׁוּ לְמִנְדַע, הָא צִּפֳּרָא נָחִיתּ בְּכָל יוֹמָא, אִתְּעַר בְּגִנְתָּא. שַׁלְהוֹבָא דְּנוּרָא בְּגַדְפָּהָא. בִּידָהָא תְּלָתָּא מַגְרוֹפְּיָין שְׁנִינָן כְּחַרְבָּא. מַפְּתְּחָן גְּנִיזִין בִּידָא יְמִינָא.

Matnitin (the Zohar’s own Mishnah). Sons of the Most High, holy ones of the Most High, blessed ones of the world, kernel of the nut: gather, to know. Behold, a bird comes down every day and stirs in the Garden. A flame of fire is in her wings. In her hand are three shovels, sharp as a sword. Hidden keys are in her right hand.

Segment 2ב׳

קָרֵי בְחָיִל וְאָמַר, מַאן מִנְּכוֹן דִּי נְהִירוּ אַנְפּוֹי, דִּי עָאל וְנָפַּק וְאִתְּתַּקִּיף בְּאִילָנָא דְחַיֵּי, מָטָא בְּעַנְפּוֹי, אָחִיד בְּשָׁרְשׁוֹי, אָכִיל מֵאִיבֵּיהּ מָתִּיק מִדּוּבְשָׁא, יָהִיב חַיִּין לְנַפְּשָׁא, אַסְוָותָּא לְגַרְמֵיהּ.

She cries aloud and says: Who among you is he whose face shines, who has gone in and come out and taken hold of the tree of life, reached to its branches, grasped its roots, eaten of its fruit that is sweeter than honey, giving life to the soul and healing to his bones?

Segment 3ג׳

אִסְתַּמַּר מֵהִרְהוּרָא בִּישָׁא, מֵהִרְהוּרָא דִּמְשַׁקֵּר בְּאִילָנָא דְחַיֵּי, מַסְאִיב נַהֲרָא וְנַחֲלָא מְקוֹרָא דְיִשְׂרָאֵל, דִּיהֵיב מוֹתָּא לְנַפְּשָׁא, וּתְּבִירוּ לְגַרְמֵיהּ לֵיתּ לֵיהּ קִיּוּמָא כְּלָל.

Guard yourself from the evil thought, from the thought that plays false with the tree of life, that defiles the river and the stream, the source of Israel, that gives death to the soul and shattering to his bones; he has no standing at all.
