The Zohar · Vayechi
Zohar, Vayechi 6
Section 6 of 86 in Vayechi — 5 segments
Segment 1
AND ONE TOLD JACOB, AND SAID: BEHOLD, YOUR SON JOSEPH IS COMING TO YOU. R. Jose said: It was an angel, one destined to speak good concerning the children of Israel when they return to the Holy One, blessed be He, in all their afflictions. When the end of the Messiah comes, in every affliction that comes upon them they will say to the Attribute, “Blessed is he who comes to you”, and they will be redeemed, my good ones.
Segment 2
Happy is the portion of Israel, who are called the sons of the Holy One, blessed be He, for they are like the angels: “and all the sons of God shouted for joy” (Job 38, 7). The Tetragrammaton — what is it?
Segment 3
Observe: from where do we know that the Holy One, blessed be He, called Jacob El? “You in the upper, and I shall be in the lower” — what is this saying? “And God went up from Abraham” (Gen. 17, 22): the patriarchs are the chariots of the Holy One, blessed be He. It has been taught: “You will give truth to Jacob, mercy to Abraham” (Mic. 7, 20) — here are two sefirot, in two chariots, great supernal ones.
