Section 26 of 86 in Vayechi — 15 segments
Segment 1
AND JACOB LIVED. …in their midst. On this account a man must not mingle his shadow with the shadow of an idolater, since this one is holy and that one unclean.
Segment 2
Observe the difference between Israel and the idolatrous nations. For as to Israel, when a man is found dead he defiles every body, and the house is defiled; but the body of an idolater does not defile another, and his body is not defiled when he dies. What is the reason?
Segment 3
When a man of Israel dies, all the sanctifications of his Master pass away from him: this holy shadow passes from him, and this holy spirit passes from him, and the body is left unclean.
