Section 16 of 18 in Tetzaveh — 7 segments
Segment 1
It is written: “You shall dwell in booths seven days” (Lev. 23, 42). This is the mystery of faith, and this verse is said of the upper world; and so we have learnt: when the world was created, this verse was said.
Segment 2
When chochmah (wisdom) began to come forth, from a place that is not known and is not seen, then a single measuring line went forth and struck; and that supernal chochmah sparkled and spread to all sides, in the mystery of the supernal tabernacle. And that supernal tabernacle brought forth six sides, and then that sparkling of the measuring line gave light to all, and He said: “You shall dwell in booths seven days.”
Segment 3
What is “sukkoth”, written defectively, without the vav? This is the lower tabernacle, which is like a lantern, to show forth all the lights. And then He said: “You shall dwell in booths seven days.” What are the seven days? From the upper world to the lower, which all stand in constancy to give light to this sukkah. And what is she? This is “the tabernacle of David that is fallen” (Amos 9, 11), the tabernacle of peace. And the holy people must sit beneath her shadow, in the mystery of faith; and whoever sits in this shadow sits in those supernal days.
